Our Vice President of Global Risk Services & Analytics, Howard Stone, joined other loss prevention leaders in a panel discussion at JCK Las Vegas which was recently featured in JCK. The panel provided guidance to jewelers on how to be continuously aware of their surroundings and take precautions to prevent their stores from being targeted by criminals. Howard shared the importance of store owners and managers socializing critical information with store staff. Additionally, he provided appropriate steps to take when responding to a store's alarm. Our dedicated Loss Prevention team is continually working to increase awareness, provide guidance and deliver education, tools and innovative solutions to keep the jewelry industry safe and secure. #TogetherWeShine #losspreventionleader #trustedadvisor #crimeawareness #safetyandsecurity https://lnkd.in/g_EiJHJ2

To start with Burglary…It’s pretty simple…put the merchandise away after closing! Understanding there is a cost to this BUT in these times it is essential. Remember the residual costs associated with not putting your merchandise away….Deductibles, the added mess and destruction that results in downtime of operations, new Underwriting requirements and insurance premium pricing following a loss, labor costs of substantiating your loss with your insurance company and the post traumatic effect on your staff. TREAT ALL COMMUNICATION FAILURES AS AN ALARM CONDITION!  MAKE SURE YOUR SAFES HAVE A UL LISTED 6-SIDED RATING. CONFIRM YOUR SYSTEM CONTROL PANEL AND TRANSMITTER PROVIDES UL LISTED “LINE SECURITY”
