KJ-700 AEW still "in green config" undergoing "taxi test". Its the latest in the PLAAF sensor fleet, manufactured by Shanxi Aerospace with mission module & radar from CETC. Analyst believe, it has incorporated some of the "lesson learned" from ongoing the Russo-Ukraine War. It features an L-Band main radar but also visible two additional modification:- 1) Side Looking Airborne Radar on the fuselage. 2) Chin mounted SAR. These two new additions would distinguish this KJ-700 from other AEW in PLAAF inventory. PLAAF..... adapt, improvise...move on...

Keeping aircrafts on land and also maintaining huge aircraft carriers would be viewed as very expensive and less and less productive. Ask AI to look for the best cost effective floating missile launchers, meaning the overall size, the best max speed, the max carrying capacity. You have several sensitive variables here, you need to find out a marriage that's seriously productive at all varying conditions. A tall order, but need to obtain a workable solution at any cost. So goodbye to you, aircrafts and your carriers, we no longer can maintain you.

New experimental aircraft to test new innovative technologies: The Kommando Luftwaffe, Airbus Defence and Space, MBDA Deutschland, Diehl Aerospace (Diehl Aviation) and German FCMS GbR (Diehl Defence, ESG Elektroniksystem- und Logistik-GmbH, HENSOLDT and Rohde & Schwarz) have signed a memorandum of understanding at the ILA in Berlin. The partners wish to collaborate in integrating technology modules and demonstrate them on what is known as a “STAR demonstrator.” This should ensure that these technologies are ready for use quickly. STAR stands for “System and Teaming Advanced Research” and is based on an existing 2-seat Eurofighter of the air force. The STAR Eurofighter is to have a modified rear cockpit and a modular avionics and communication pod. With this equipment and additional flying platforms, the interplay of piloted and unpiloted elements should be demonstrated, finished, and operational by the end of the 2020s. Moreover, the STAR experimental aircraft should also support other national research projects (more on that here: https://lnkd.in/ev6N_xRY), especially in the areas of human-machine interfaces, integrated modular avionics, future training concepts, and the interoperability of existing fighter planes such as the Eurofighter and the F-35. And sensor technology, networked weapons, and electronic warfare will form central objects of the study. The partners’ objective is to demonstrate and integrate all these technologies quickly and pragmatically so they can also be used in the future for developments in the European Future Combat Air System (FCAS). The FCAS should be ready for use beginning in 2040 and will consist of a system of systems. The focus is on a new generation fighter (#NGF) and drones (Remote Carrier) that are networked with other systems on the ground, in the sea, in the air, in space, and in cyberspace via a data cloud (Multi-Domain Combat Cloud #MDCC).

It can measure the triaxial acceleration and angular velocity of the object, and is generally used in the measurement link of the system to estimate the posture of the object. The #accelerometer detects the independent three-axis acceleration signal of the object in the carrier coordinate system, the gyro detects the angular velocity signal of the carrier relative to the navigation coordinate system, and the attitude of the object can be calculated according to the measured angular velocity and acceleration of the object in three-dimensional space. Here’s a recap of the other relevant news for military aviation: 🔥 Japan, Britain and Italy are progressing the work on the future Global Combat Air Program (#GCAP), participated by BAE Systems, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Leonardo (among others). The partners are close to completing the aircraft’s conceptual design phase, which will allow to move to the next stage of the program next year — the design and development phase. The stage should last 5 years and lead to a maiden flight around 2030, while export and deployment should be ready by 2035. 🔥 According to OCCAR, the first activities to certify the engine of the RPAS #Eurodrone have started. The Catalyst engine was developed in the last decade across Europe and will be provided by Avio Aero, which should deliver 120 engines for 60 aircraft. The manufacturing of the aircraft will be carried out by Leonardo and Dassault Aviation. 🔥 In the next few weeks, JetZero will begin flight tests of a subscale version of its full-scale blended wing body (BWB) multirole commercial and military demonstrator. The company was funded under a 2021 contract by NASA and by U.S. Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) in 2023. Flight tests of the full-scale demonstrator are expected for 2027, powered by Pratt & Whitney PW1100G engines. 🔥 The US Army has cancelled its next generation Future Attack Reconnaissance Aircraft (#FARA) program. The decision comes two decades to the month after the Army ended its plans to procure the RAH-66 Comanche and nearly 16 years after it terminated work on the ARH-70A Arapaho, both aircraft designed to replace the Kiowa, the same helicopter FARA was meant to replace. Considering the changing scenarios (Ukraine), the saved money should to invested in unmanned systems. #military #militaryaviation
