Utility Mapping Can't send surveyors down with Laser Scanners? Not a problem. LiDAR technology means that you no longer have to worry about underground mapping of utilities. Using the Emesent #Hovermap #STX, we managed to scan this 300m pipe. We mounted the Hovermap onto a trolley, pulling it from one end to the other end of the 800mm pipe in just 35 minutes. The Hovermap is a SLAM driven LiDAR system, using the features in the environment to bring everything together. Pretty impressive right? You either push boundaries with new technology or get left behind.
