The Intersection of Caregiving and Exercise Physiology: A Path to Better Health As a professional in exercise physiology, I've come to recognize the vital role physical activity plays in the lives of caregivers and those they care for. Here's why this intersection is so important: Caregiver Health: Regular exercise can help caregivers manage stress, improve sleep, and maintain their health – crucial for providing quality care. Patient Benefits: Tailored exercise programs can significantly improve the quality of life for many patients, from increasing mobility to enhancing mood. Fall Prevention: Understanding body mechanics and strength training can reduce the risk of falls for both caregivers and care recipients. Rehabilitation: Exercise physiology principles are fundamental in many rehabilitation processes, speeding recovery and improving outcomes. Mental Health: The positive impact of exercise on mental health can be a game-changer for both caregivers and patients dealing with stress, anxiety, or depression. Let's start a conversation: How have you seen exercise make a difference in caregiving situations? What challenges do you face in implementing regular physical activity? #Caregiving #ExercisePhysiology #HealthAndWellness #PatientCare

Doctor of Physical Therapy ✨High Ticket Sales Coach and mentor ✨ Entrepreneur ✨ Helping women escape corporate burnout to live a life of health and wealth
An open letter to my fellow physical therapists, I see you and I mean truly see you. Spending your time day after day treating patient after patient and figuring out how to stay on top of increasing workloads Trying to figure out how to get documentation done without coming in early or staying late and missing another good morning smile, another bedtime, another sports practice pick up I see you running yourself into the ground to make it all work To be the excellent employee and clinician your patients deserve however you are running on fumes from the day before because your caseload is slammed Exhausted from not having a moment to yourself 5 days a week for 8,9, 10 hours at a time because somebody needs us Mentally and emotionally drained because of the direction that healthcare is going I see you questioning how you can manage to keep this up until you are 65 (or older) when you are only 30. The pressure to do more, see more. The aches and pains from the physical aspect. But you do it anyways because those student loans totaling over 200,000 have to be paid somehow - never mind also having to pay normal living expenses I see you being so tired from the week that you give your family the left over bits of you every night of the week I see you so exhausted that you can’t even find the time to take care of yourself and your needs because you spend your days taking care of others I see you and the struggles you face. The burnout. The anxiety. The fatigue. The exhaustion. Just know you are not alone ❤️ and just know that it doesn’t have to be this way. You can reclaim your life, your health, your mental health, your freedom. Just ask me how and I will show you the way Xoxo Erin a fellow DPT ❤️

Low motivation can significantly impact an individual's ability to complete activities of daily living (ADLs) in various ways: 🔶 Lack of Initiative: Individuals with low motivation may struggle to initiate tasks, finding it challenging to start or plan daily activities. 🔶 Procrastination: They might postpone or delay tasks, hoping to complete them later, but often struggle to follow through. 🔶 Reduced Persistence: Low motivation contributes to a lack of persistence in task completion. Individuals might abandon tasks midway due to perceived difficulty or lack of interest. 🔶 Decreased Goal Setting: A lack of motivation may result in vague or unclear goals, making it challenging to outline and achieve the necessary steps to complete tasks. 🔶 Inability to Prioritize: Difficulty in prioritizing tasks due to diminished motivation can lead to neglecting crucial activities and focusing on less essential ones. 🔶 Negative Impact on Self-Efficacy: Low motivation can erode an individual's belief in their ability to complete tasks, reducing self-confidence and further dampening motivation. 🔶 Feelings of Overwhelm: A lack of motivation might lead to feeling overwhelmed by tasks, causing avoidance behavior as a coping mechanism. By addressing low motivation through structured cueing and prompting, real-time support, and positive reinforcement, Invisible-Care helps injured individuals regain a sense of purpose, and increase their drive to engage in meaningful activities more effectively. #rehabilitation #rehab #braininjury #concussion #chronicpain #spinalcordinjury #mva #catastrophicinjury #accidentinsurance #claimsmanagement #occupationaltherapy #occupationaltherapist #casemanagement #personalinjury #personalinjurylawyer #homecare #longtermcare #communitycare #communityengagement #seniorcare #healthtech #attendantcare #personalsupport #psw #behavioralhealth #ondemandservices #seniorcare #claims #catastrophicinjury #sabs #invisiblecare #assistivetechnology #assistedliving #assistivetech #cognitivehealth #remotemonitoring #telehealth #telemedicine #digitalhealth #mentalhealthsupport #mentalhealth #healthtech #healthtechinnovation #pediatrichealth #oap #habilitation #techinhealthcare #artificialintelligence #healthcareai

We hear it all the time as moms—we need to prioritize our health. If only there were more hours in a day and we could have the energy of a toddler 😆 As a pelvic health physical therapist and mom of 2 little ones myself, I understand this importance and I understand the real guilt moms feel about taking time for themselves. My goal is to help my clients care for their body without adding to that guilt. Here are a few simple things we can do each day to take care of ourselves. 🚽Consider using a squatty potty to decrease pressure on your pelvic floor when you use the bathroom. 💤Prioritize sleep as much as you can. Establishing a bedtime routine (similar to what you do with your littles) can help you fall asleep faster, sleep deeper, and sleep longer. 💧Drink plenty of water throughout the day. A water bottle that tracks your intake can be a helpful tool. 🧘♀️Take a few minutes to meditate and focus on your breathing each day. This can help improve your pelvic floor health, calm your nervous system, and establish healthy coping habits when things aren’t going your way. 👥Find a trusted friend or support group to talk to about any issues you may be facing. (It would be hard to function without my village—FIT4MOM Billings, BossMom texting group, my mom friends across the country, and my family) 🚶Even a short walk or a few minutes of movement can have a positive impact on your health. Exercise doesn’t have to be complicated. Every little bit counts. If you are having a difficult time prioritizing yourself and your health, consider booking a FREE 15-minute consultation call with me. We can talk about the barriers you face and how our care model at MovementX can help. We can also discuss your goals and how physical therapy can help you getting back to the things you love. A story for #therapists and #clients concerned about #privacy, professionalism and AI bots on mental health apps and digital therapy platforms such as BetterHelp and Talkspace -- and how Welldoing.org is different
The UK press is doing some great stories about #mentalhealth and #therapy these days. As much is behind a paywall, and people have limited time to browse and read, Welldoing.org aims to provide abridged versions for our therapist members and subscribers to our (free) newsletter. Here's the latest in which The Telegraph and The Times dig into how #digitaltherapy and #mentalhealthapps work for clients and therapists, and why we should be concerned about their future effect. https://lnkd.in/dMk8SquZ
