During the panel discussion at Cannes Lions I discussed the process of media relations using artificial intelligence (AI), i.e. from content creation, insights gathering, distribution to communication measurement. I believe that AI plays a crucial role in modern creativity and content creation. It streamlines the process and therefore gives more room for creative activity, or the foundation of media relations, which is building relationships with media that are interested in the content and targeting the chosen audience. However, according to my book "The Art of Leadship Through Public Relations", this requires a change in the mindset of PR managers when evaluating campaigns. Accordind to AMEC research, more than 50% of PR managers, who are still sometimes leveraging the now obsolete AVE model. The goal is elevating and measuring the impact of communication on the functioning of the entire organisation. AI tools can help to do much of this #worldcom #icco #AI

How do I know, that posting this does not lead to punishing my #research proposals or work in general? Or putting me on a governmental “black list” for my opinions? Sounds like a story from the 1930’s? A story around Putin or Erdogan? No, this is Germany 2024! Unbelievable? Then, read the leaked emails and reporting below (in German). TL;DR: A “liberal” minister of Education and Research tried to criminally investigate and punish ~1100 #professors and #researchers for signing an open letter supporting free speech of students. Also by cutting research funds of these researchers!! Yes: cutting research funds! For stating that they support the right of their students of free speech (while staying neutral on the subject). How can we trust, that the upcoming top competition “scientific excellence initiative” #Exzellenzinitiative is actually a fair competition? In my opinion, this is a huge damage to Germany as a scientific and research hotspot. And the best of it: As a reaction to the news report, the ministry tried to cover the story in a clarification statement saying they did not consider cutting funds (but only other measures). Well. This is simply not true as the leaked emails clearly show: So either they can’t actually read German or they are saying the NDR journalists faked the emails 🤷♂️. P.S. The positive part of this story: the German bureaucracy + legal system seems to work well. This can be seen from the response of the legal advisor in the leaked emails. Key note speaker for 10 years got me tired I used to travel the world to give over 90 key notes about eHealth and medical tourism. Both was and is great, I wanted to be seen, I wanted to be requested etc. but I felt tired and my motivation got down. This changed 10 years later, which NOW 😀 Now I take things much easier and this is the very first lecture since years. Why do I do it and why am I exited??? Because its NOT the bubble in the bubble. the big OMR where ist all about to hear super successful people & company stories. Its pure about 2 intrinsic motivated woman (Melanie Prange & Cindy Kroszewski) who are open to build a network and exchange of experiences. Getting students into this is super hero move. Best Paper Award at the ENESER conference 🤩 Many organizations talk about the candidate experience, but nobody really provides a clear definition and conceptualization of what it really is. Measuring it becomes even more tricky. That’s exactly what Laurens Biesmans is doing in his PhD, supervised by Rein De Cooman, Diane Arijs and myself. Earlier this week, Laurens presented his work at the European Network of Selection Researchers (ENESER) conference, which gathers an international group of academics working on recruitment and selection. He presented our paper in which we conceptualize the candidate experience and develop a scale to measure it.
