About 2 years ago, if you had asked me what my greatest fear was, I would have quickly said losing my job. Balancing a career while raising a child felt overwhelming, and the thought of unemployment terrified me, especially as a woman who advocates for women having their own money. I was constantly worried about how I would manage it all. But this year, that fear no longer holds power over me. Over time, I’ve learned invaluable skills—crafting standout CVs, writing compelling cover letters, building portfolios, searching for jobs, and acing interviews. I realized that once I mastered these tools, my confidence grew, and I was no longer bound by fear. Now, my focus has shifted toward helping others, especially women like me, navigate the often-challenging job market. That’s why I founded Empower Her Remotely, a community dedicated to empowering people especially women with the tools, knowledge, and resources they need to land well-paying remote jobs. Good tips on reaching out to recruiters.

“I’ve been unemployed for 6+ months, will I find a job?” I get this question from a lot of people. And the answer is yes, you ABSOLUTELY can. Our client Sarah was in a similar situation. Laid off from her role in July '23. She had applied to thousands of roles. And had 0 job offers. She knew if she wanted to change her situation, She needed to get the right help. Within 4 months of us working together, Sarah landed her "impossible" dream role. ❇️ A $170K remote position ❇️ What helped her get there (steal this) 👇🏻 Sarah understood that sending just a few messages to recruiters isn't enough. She needed to build a web of connections at each target company. We coached her on who to reach out to: 1. The recruiter in charge of the role 2. The hiring manager you'd report to 3. A peer on the same team The plan: • Send personalized messages to all three people. • Reference the role you’re applying to. • Mention any shared connections. • Show you've done your research. Quantity matters: • Send at least 10 new outreach messages/day • It may feel awkward at first, but it's a numbers game. • More hooks in the water = more bites. Be politely persistent. If you don't hear back in 4-5 days, follow up. When Sarah did this targeted, high-volume outreach daily, she got way more traction. Her calendar filled up. Outreach is one of the highest-ROI job search activities. But most people don't do enough. If you want a great role, you have to hustle. Get out there and make new connections every day.
