Did You Know…? With last Friday's range in 10yr yields of roughly 4.22 to 4.27, there was narrow window for today being an "inside day" (i.e. when the previous sessions highs were higher, and lows were lower). And with Friday afternoon's range being 4.25-4.27, there was an even narrower window to be able to refer to today as "sideways." Bonds were clearing both windows for the first few hours but are thinking about expanding the intraday range after 10am (on the happy side). At the end of 2023, approximately 80,000 loan officers exited the Mortgage industry, while 14% of producing loan officers changed employers. This is a disturbing statistic, but a strong indicator of the climate of the mortgage industry right now. I was one of those people that changed companies last year - actually a couple of times. 😩 But I absolutely love what I do and I am wise and experienced enough to understand that with the times we are in, where I am matters!!! It takes courage to leave a company. Change is never easy. But in the end, I would rather show up every day authentically happy and truly equipped to harness my day, than faking it just because I fear how people will judge and support my exodus. The accumulating demographic life changes will force people to move. Marriage, divorce, new family member, retirement, new job, new school, new income, and death are some of these reasons. The total listings on the market are up 18%. Home sales have yet to turn higher. But the upper-end market is moving because it does have more inventory.
