Johan De Neef’s Post

Most of our solid cardboard packaging comprises recycled paper and cardboard. The raw materials that we purchase are FSC certified, but what does FSC certified actually mean? Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is an international hallmark for paper, supported by governments, businesses and environmental organisations. It sets high demands for sustainable and sociable forestry, but sets no requirements for paper production. FSC 100% indicates that the fibres originate from responsibly managed forests. Endangered forests and trees with a high environmental value may not be used for timber production. Felling trees may not lead to a forest disappearing or a loss of biodiversity or damage the natural ability for the forest to regrow. This means that after felling trees, the forest must be given the opportunity to recover. In other words, no more timber can be cut that can regrow. Smart Packaging Solutions does everything in its power to manufacture our sustainable packaging in the most environmentally friendly way, and so with minimum CO2 emissions. This is how we limit the environmental impact with our activities and products. Are you on the lookout for sustainable, environmentally friendly packaging?
