🌍 Excited to Share My Experience at the "Future Ready Streets" Event! 🚶♂️ I had the incredible opportunity to attend the "Future Ready Streets" event hosted by the WSP team led by Camille Delègue and Joe Harries. It was an eye-opening experience, where I gained valuable insights into the future of urban design and sustainability. Here are some key takeaways that resonated with me: Holistic Urban Planning: The emphasis on a multidisciplinary approach was fascinating. From air quality to water management, it’s clear that the future of our streets relies on a seamless integration of various fields working together. Circular Economy & Sustainable Mobility: The discussions on how to design streets that support decarbonization, waste reduction, and sustainable mobility were particularly inspiring. The concept of modularity and reversibility in urban spaces is something I’m eager to see implemented in more cities. Empowered Communities: I was deeply impressed by the focus on community involvement. The idea of empowering local communities to take an active role in shaping their environment is crucial for long-term sustainability and resilience. Creative Collaboration: The event highlighted the importance of creative collaboration among experts. It’s not just about having the best individual plans, but about how these plans can complement each other to create something truly innovative and future-ready. This event has left me with a lot to think about and a renewed passion for contributing to sustainable urban development.
