🌟 Reflections on the Resurgence in IPO and ECM Markets🌟 The first half of 2024 has brought a remarkable recovery and transformation in the IPO and Equity Capital Markets (ECM). Reflecting on these developments, several key insights stand out: 🚀 U.S. IPO Market Revival: The first quarter of 2024 saw IPO proceeds tripling compared to Q1 2023, with significant contributions from tech and healthcare sectors. Seven major IPOs each raised over $500 million, underscoring renewed confidence and investor appetite. ⚡ Zeekr’s Successful IPO: The strong debut of Chinese EV maker Zeekr on the U.S. market, raising $441 million, is a testament to the global interest in innovative and sustainable technologies. This move highlights China’s strategic positioning in the EV market and the continued investor interest in clean energy solutions. 🤝 Influence of Cornerstone Investors: The increased participation of cornerstone investors, such as Norway’s sovereign wealth fund, has been pivotal in stabilizing and boosting confidence in the U.S. IPO market. Their involvement in high-profile IPOs like Birkenstock and Instacart not only de-risks the pricing process but also attracts additional investors, showcasing a trend likely to persist as we move towards a more normalized market environment. Reflecting on these trends, it is clear that the IPO and ECM landscape is dynamically evolving. The robust activity in key sectors, the strategic moves by cornerstone investors, and the successful listings of innovative companies point towards a resilient and forward-looking market. As we navigate this evolving environment, it is crucial to stay informed and agile, leveraging these insights to drive strategic decisions and capitalize on emerging opportunities. Your thoughts and insights are welcome! #IPO #ECM #InvestmentBanking #FinancialMarkets #CapitalMarkets #Innovation

I recently caught up with Bloomberg to discuss how tech companies are evaluating the current market. While there are signs of improvement in the overall market, tech companies are still working out valuations and are mindful of interest rates. Recent IPOs are part of the ecosystem and do affect a broader view of the investor community. There is an intrigue to what's happening generally, but tech companies are looking at opportunities a bit differently. As I shared with Bloomberg: The market for technology deals is still taking a “wait-and-see” approach, according to Barrett Daniels, US IPO services co-leader at Deloitte LLP. “Listings that we’ve seen here recently give us some broader view about how the investment community is thinking about IPOs, but it is sort of apples-to-oranges,” Daniels said. #IPO

London: an attractive IPO venue for US mid-caps. Good write up on why list in London. Having researched Global equities, US mid and small cap stocks often are under researched and struggle to find air time on venues such as Nasdaq with global investors. London can provide access to capital, research and the ability to market to a more attentive audience outside of just the tech sector.
