"Small School Feel, Big Program Standards" This is why working for UD Campus Recreation is *different (*Marianist for "better"). *As seen on a facebook story, translated from an IG reel, first posted to tiktok & awkwardly typed into linkedin in true TLDR fashion by a 40 something professional. You'll work at UDCR: Of course you will have a supervisor that is personally invested in your success. You were planning on doing this, right Drew Salvador ? You'll work at UDCR: Of course you will join a team that celebrates your success and pushes you to improve on that success. You'll work at UDCR: Of course the students are the best. The come to us great, you'll make them better, they will love you for it. You'll work at UDCR: If anyone says "It's just intramurals" or "It's sport clubs, not varsity", of course you will shoot them a death glare and then politely 'splain to them why they are wrong. This is the second of three posts as I get ready to celebrate my 1st anniversary as the Educational Facilities Planner at Pfluger Architects. The purpose of these posts is to pay back and pay homage to the people and resources that helped me find the perfect fit after 30 years in education. Today's post is focused on the power of networking. Innumerable individuals have been generous with their time, encouragement, and collaboration—they have made all the difference in my journey. A few of them are tagged below. 3 tips for growing your network: 1. Networking is like making job-related friends - it is richest when you find like-minded connections as well as connections that bridge to a different perspective. 2. Don't be afraid to reach out to those you admire. Don't be offended if they don't respond, and don't forget the value of their time if they do. 3. Know when it is time to seek help and when it is your turn to support someone else. This can happen even in the first few years of your career and well into your later years. Everyone has something to contribute and something to learn. 🌟 Celebrating Teachers Every Day! 🌟 As a passionate educator and recruiter for Greenville County Schools, I know firsthand the incredible impact that teachers have on our kids and communities. For 22 years, I had the privilege of being a special education teacher, starting my career in the elementary schools, and later teaching on the middle and high school levels and even in one of our district career centers!
