Why am I hosting an in person conference? People generally get in touch with me for two reasons: 1. They want to connect with the right person because - they are a provider who wants to find property to lease -they are a property investor who has a property they want to lease to a supported living provider -they want to buy property to lease to a supported living provider 2. They want to learn more about supported living property I have carefully designed the Supported Living Property Network Conference to deliver a packed day and give you direct access to my connections to help you with both of these things. You will leave - With a whole load of new contacts - With a greater understanding supported living property and up to date information from industry leaders - Feeling reinvigorated and inspired Running an in person event is not easy. It’s a lot of work. To be honest it’s tiring and frustrating. There have been venue issues, people cancelling, leaving me to reorganise things at the last minute and lots of other challenges. But I know the impact of getting so many people in a room. I know that supported living homes were created from the relationships built at the last conference. This is what drives me to put on this amazing event and to make sure it delivers value for every attendee. We really do things differently, this is not another boring networking even! Why should you come to Canary Connections? 🤔 Well, when I first started going to property networking events I couldn't find what I wanted. Most of the events were centred around education (and therefore they attracted lots of newbies) and pitching (disguised as presentations). There was very little opportunity for networking. Maybe a 15 minute interval if you were lucky. Not everyone would hang around after the formalities were over. You had no clue who else was in the room that you should even connect with. So I built my own event. Pure networking. No presentations to sit through. No speaker slots / pitches. No complete newbies. Curated attendee list. Invite-only. You know in advance who is coming that you should speak to. It's a lot of work for me 😫 but people find real value in it. **Wales Week Worldwide 2025: A rallying Cymranian cry for events** I am seeking ideas and inspirations, with a view of making these ideas and inspirations a reality! Friday 21st February 2025 to Saturday 8th March 2025 is Wales Week / Worldwide, a really important and brilliant way to celebrate and to promote Wales, linking with various places and nationalities around the world. In 2023, I was delighted to link up with the Week to start #WalesWeekIran, a partnership I hope can continue to blossom. That year, I got to host some great online and in-person events. Sadly, for one reason or another, I was unable to finalise any events for Wales Week Iran for 2024. While frustrating on my part, I've a feeling next year is going to be a good 'un. Hence this email - a rallying cry to get ideas and concepts over the line. The events tend to focus on business/networking and culture, but seriously, for me, so long as it links #Wales and #Iran, I'm game. For various reasons, I am unable to hold in-person events in Iran but it doesn't stop me from hosting anywhere else (doesn't have to be in Wales either) and of course, Teams and Zoom are great web platforms. And if there are events in Iran for the Week, they can always be hybrid. No idea is a silly idea. And in fact they don't necessarily need to be during the fortnight period mentioned above.
