In 1911, Frederick Taylor argued to ditch "the old idea that each workman can best regulate his own way of doing the work."
He wasn't advocating for merely forcing employees to work harder.
Taylor was all for managers supporting their staff by providing training, building systems that enable waste-less work, and scientifically searching for better methods.
And yes, surely some of his methods and arguments are outdated—his approach often stripped people of individuality and was mostly suited for factory work, etc.
With labor costs higher than ever and a talent shortage still looming, I wonder how modern industry leaders view the problem of workplace productivity in 2024?
I honestly can't wait for our discussion panel featuring Alyona Gurshchenkova from Wolt, Krzysztof Ras from D360 Bank, Evgeny Sharypin from Sendcloud and Brent Mills from Nursa. Each of them a master in their trade, supporting teams and individuals to become the best selves at work.
