That simple word could be hinting at something way more significant—maybe our kiddos aren't as fired up about learning as they could be. Shout out to my colleagues Aylon Samouha, Jenee Henry Wood, and Jeff Wetzler for packaging all of the findings, ideas, and insights from almost a decade of work with Transcend in a new book, "Extraordinary Learning for All." This gem is chock-full of insights on how to tailor educational spaces to fit every unique learner out there. Learn more and get your copy! https://lnkd.in/eD-BPBTs

As we embark on a new school year, let's reflect on how we want our students to feel as they step into our classrooms on day one. Focusing solely on rules and routines might send a message of conformity, but what if we aimed higher? What if, instead of just teaching content, we nurtured the very spirit of our students? Imagine a space where wonder, curiosity, and imagination are not just encouraged but are the very foundation of learning. From the moment they walk through the door, students should feel as if they’re entering an imagination portal—a place where the ordinary becomes extraordinary, and the impossible feels within reach. If we truly want to prepare students for a life of purpose and fulfillment, we must go beyond traditional content. Let’s cultivate the essential, often overlooked, skills that will empower them to explore, create, and thrive in a world full of possibilities. How will you cultivate the creative dispositions our world needs in your learning space on day one? Alejandra (Allie) Joyner, M.Ed. Paul Reynolds
