I always thought some AFL footballers would make fantastic money managers. Some have an ability to read the play and know exactly where the ball is going next and position themselves accordingly.
As an avid Carlton supporter, Jacob Weitering & Blake Acres come to mind and a couple of others; James Sicily & Max Gawn.
Any others come to mind?
So we look at the data from the week as it helps us position our portfolios to where the ball is going next with a focus on risk and rewards.

No Taxpayer Money for Reinsdorf’s Chicago White Sox Stadium Proposal https://bit.ly/3TbYJI5 Jerry Reinsdorf, the owner of the $2.5 billion valued Chicago White Sox (Forbes), wants the taxpayers of the State of Illinois to pay $1.5 billion to build a new MLB stadium for him and his development partners. The ask is for $1 billion in new money, but the area is already designated as a TIF (Tax Incremental Financing district), giving the partnership group an immediate $500 million tax break.
We’ve seen this story before in the 1980s when Reinsdorf threatened to move the White Sox. I’ve been a Sox fan for over 60 years and a former season ticket holder. I explain why there should be no taxpayer funding in this rational, unemotional, and research-driven article and the actions fans can take to stop the Reinsdorf train.
