⚪⚪𝗡𝗼 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗱: 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆⚪⚪ Together with adidas, Camden Council, and the local District Management Committee, we are set to refurbish a community football pitch in Peckwater Estate as part of No More Red. The pitch will be resurfaced with new goalposts and improved lighting, creating a safe space for our local community to connect and play football through weekly sessions delivered by Arsenal in the Community. These sessions will run alongside other activities currently carried out by our partners, including the NW5 Project, which runs regular sports and wellbeing sessions for people of all ages. This is the first pitch we will have refurbished in Camden, and the fourth in north London since we launched No More Red with adidas in 2022 to support and build on Arsenal in the Community’s work to drive a sense of belonging and help keep young people safe. It follows pitches refurbished in the Mayville, Harvist and King Square Estates in Islington. This year marks the 40th anniversary of Arsenal in the Community, and we recently published our first economic and social impact report, which showed we reach 5,000 people a week through 140,000 hours of community activity every season.

𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐁𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐚𝐦𝐞 We’re proud to support Every Stain Should Be Part of the Game, a new campaign launched by our partner Dirt Is Good to support the 6 out of 10 girls who fear playing sport due to period leaks (Youth Sport Trust, 2024). No girl should feel excluded from the game she loves because of fear or stigma. That principle laid the foundation of our women’s team, which started as a programme run by Arsenal in the Community around 40 years ago with no other goal than to give local women a safe and inclusive space to play football.   That sense of belonging paved the way for four decades of progress in the women’s game – and remains at the heart of the programmes we continue to deliver through Arsenal in the Community that connect with young girls across north London today.   As part of Every Stain Should Be Part of the Game, together with Dirt is Good we have launched a new programme of workshops and spaces designed to support young girls and boys break down barriers to sport participation – because we all deserve to play with confidence and feel like we belong in the game we love.

The campaign will raise awareness of cervical cancer and its possible prevention through existing NHS services, such as the NHS cervical screening programme and NHS vaccination programme. At this weekend's North London Derby, we will elevate this message, and encourage supporters to visit their GP or https://lnkd.in/ephv4hHr for further information. We’ll also deliver education sessions around the disease and its prevention across north London over the next 12 months through Arsenal in the Community, engaging some of the most vulnerable and hardest-to-reach communities to overcome barriers to prevention. Our Vice-Captain, Leah Williamson, stars in the campaign alongside Beth Mead, Katie McCabe, Kyra Cooney-Cross, and Manu Zinsberger, and she had this message for our community: 𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒌 𝒊𝒔 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒊𝒕 𝒎𝒆𝒂𝒏𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝒓𝒆𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑨𝒓𝒔𝒆𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒂𝒅𝒈𝒆 𝒘𝒆 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒚 𝒇𝒐𝒓. AZ began his journey with Arsenal in the Community as a participant in one of our ‘Back to Work’ employment programmes in the late 1980s. In 1989, he transitioned into a full-time role with us, marking the start of an incredible career inspiring, coaching and mentoring thousands of people in our community across a huge variety of roles. AZ currently leads Arsenal in the Community’s work with older adults on our bowls programme which supports physical and mental health and helps combat loneliness and forms part of our Premier League PFA-funded Health programme.. AZ was presented with the Community Captain Award by Mikel Arteta and Richard Garlick at Sobha Realty Training Centre during one of our bowls sessions last week. As we mark the 40th anniversary of Arsenal in the Community during 2025, AZ embodies our values, helping to bring pride, inspiration and belonging to our Arsenal family. ⚪⚪𝐍𝐨 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐝: 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 4 ⚪⚪ In partnership with adidas, we are proud to announce the fourth year of No More Red, a joint initiative first launched in 2022 to build on 40 years of Arsenal in the Community’s work to help keep young people safe from knife crime and youth violence. No More Red continues to evolve and grow, with a commitment to support young people through three core focuses: investing in safe spaces to play, providing ongoing opportunities for connection, and championing community role models.    Our men’s team will wear the No More Red kit, drained of our traditional red, for the fourth consecutive year and the second time in a home fixture when we face Manchester United in the FA Cup third round on Sunday. Our women’s team will also wear the all-white kit on pitch for the second consecutive year when we play Bristol City in the FA Cup fourth round at Meadow Park, also on Sunday. Freddie Hudson, Head of Arsenal in the Community spoke about the impact of No More Red: “𝘐𝘵’𝘴 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘸𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘶𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘪𝘯𝘷𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘴𝘢𝘧𝘦 𝘴𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘦𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘸𝘦 𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘧𝘢𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘪𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘯𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘨𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘸𝘢𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘴. • Our women’s team recently joined a football session for year 7 girls delivered by Arsenal in the Community in north London. Leah Williamson, Mariona Caldentey, Victoria Pelova and Vivienne Lia took part in Premier League Kicks and Premier League Inspires sessions, two programmes funded by The Premier League Charitable Fund and delivered by our community team free for girls aged 8-18 across north London. These are safe spaces where girls can play football and learn, creating a sense of belonging that helps protect their love for the game, whilst also raising aspirations and driving social inclusion. Community has always been part of our DNA, and our women’s team was born out of a similar community initiative in the 1980s designed at the time to give women in north London a safe space to play football. That action paved the way for four decades of unmatched success and progress in our game, and remains at the heart of who we are today. More: https://lnkd.in/e6xuFUMF

  • 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 🤝   We marked this week’s International Day of Persons with Disabilities with a special event focused on accessibility and inclusion in the workplace alongside our partner Google Pixel, as well as London Metropolitan University, and Microlink PC (UK) Ltd.   Over half of disabled people in our borough are out of work, a problem facing the UK more generally, and even in work, they face discrimination and barriers to progression.   More often than not, changing the mindset towards disabled employees is as important as the physical barriers those communities face. At the heart of that is creating a sense of belonging, where our disabled workforce feel heard, valued, and are empowered to grow.   We hosted local partners, businesses, and disabled communities to share their experiences, and learn from each other about some of the solutions and actions that can be taken to improve outcomes in work for disabled people.   We were delighted to be joined by author, mouth artist and Arsenal supporter, Henry Fraser, who spoke about his own experience, and the “little big things” that have shaped his own career and contributed to where he is today.   We’re on our own journey as a club to drive inclusion for our disabled communities, and we remain committed to building a diverse and inclusive club, where all our people, supporters and our communities around the world feel like they belong at Arsenal.
