Fractional COO: I help social enterprises and non-profits move through change by implementing strategic plans, resourcing and managing people & teams, and building systems and processes that scale.
There has been a lot of buzz over the MacKenzie Scott and Yield Giving donations this week and rightly so. But all I can think about is HOW are those non-profits going to prepare themselves for that level of growth? ❓What systems and processes will enable them to deliver more impact? ❓How will they deliver on more sustainable and supportive commitments to their own people and teams? ❓How will they maintain momentum or solidify their new position, once the donation is used? Not every organization gets a transformative gift. But lots of small nonprofits and startups are tackling unanticipated growth. And, if you don't strengthen your foundation first, you only increase your risk to fall. Your people and teams are everything. Make sure they're resourced, clear, and thriving. And, while you're at it: Check out the recipients...there are some great local organizations on this list!

Indeed, "What are you doing for others?" is a profoundly thought-provoking question that often gets overlooked in the hustle and bustle of daily life. It serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of selflessness and empathy in our interactions with others. This question not only prompts us to reflect on how we can contribute to the betterment of society but also encourages personal growth and fulfillment. As a coach, I've observed that individuals who focus solely on what others are or aren't doing for them often find themselves caught in a cycle of negativity, leading to feelings of depression and bitterness. Shifting the focus from oneself to others can be transformative, fostering a sense of purpose and connection that enriches both personal and communal experiences.
Happy National Volunteer Month! This month is all about community and connection, two values that are integral to our company's mission. To celebrate, I want to highlight a few of the ways we partner with local non-profits, like New York Cares, to make a positive impact in our community. As we reflect on the MLK quote on our volunteer t-shirts, "Life's most persistent and urgent question is: 'What are you doing for others?'" let's take this month to answer that question and give back to those around us. Thank you to our team for their dedication to making a difference. Let's continue to work together to build a stronger and more connected community. #nationalvolunteermonth

This was not just a family-friendly event, it was a canvas for positive change! Our community outreach events are more than just painting classes for children and their parents; they're a butterfly effect of creativity and empowerment. Here's how these events make a difference: Spark creativity and empower future generations: We ignite a passion for self-expression and exploration in young minds, fostering artistic confidence and nurturing young artists. This investment in creativity empowers them to become problem-solvers and storytellers, building a brighter tomorrow. Build community: Art brings people together! These workshops create a space for connection and learning, fostering a sense of belonging. By bringing people together through art, we contribute to building stronger communities. By attending one of our classes, you're not just donating supplies, you're contributing to: Creative expression: Empowering children to explore their artistic voices. Stronger communities: Building bridges and fostering connections through art. A brighter future: Investing in the next generation of creative thinkers.
