In the last 10 years development funding for the arts has almost halved, impacting the cost per head across England. That's a rather nebulous statistic so are we talking 20£, 10£ or even 5£ a head? Lower, the cost per head is roughly £1.52. This impacts anyone engaging in the arts but especially those with any pre-existing barrier to access. Our society and government is nurturing an elites only access to arts, where vital art engagements that improve health, cognitive abilities and social development are being gate kept and squashed; reserved for the 1%. Initiatives like the Big Give campaign are a rare opportunity to invest in our arts for yourselves and for our future society. Simply donating this week means your donation will be doubled and support life changing work like that via Paintings in Hospitals. So why not give 15.20 and you've already helped 20 more people than our current funding structures do!

Shelterforce - Veteran Housing Corp suggests that there is STILL A LOT OF WORK TO DO. NOTHING BUT A COMPLETE OVERHAUL OF THE NATION'S GOVERNMENT FINANCED HOUSING PROGRAMS WILL RESOLVE THE NATION'S AFFORDABLE HOUSING CRISIS As STAKEHOLDERS in the #affordablehousing space, isn't it our responsibility to present new ideas, innovation, and foster change for the betterment of society and our communities. My hope is that every #affordablehousing stakeholder will bring this most important issue to light and contact their local, state, and federal housing officials and work to OVERHAUL a broken system I am not advocating for another government social program, but rather that governments (local, state, and federal) should be responsible when investing taxpayer dollars in program that are meant to serve their constituents. Those programs must provide permanent solutions that pay for themselves. If you the ultra rich, private developers, for-profit companies or non-profit developers wish to build whatever mixed-use project, affordable-, workforce- or market-rate rent projects, they should be free to do so, but not at taxpayer expense! Students Rising Above (SRA) forever changed the trajectory of my life. I applied a lot of scholarships when I was in high school, but to say SRA is a scholarship would be an understatement. SRA provides much more than a check to the college or university the first-gen student decides to go to; SRA equips students with the tools and resources first-gen students need, in order to succeed in college, post college, and overall life. More importantly, SRA serves as a sounding board when things get tough at home. While these students may be off at college, they still have to manage their home duties: parents' doctor appointments, feeding their siblings, contributing to rent, etc...it becomes overwhelming juggling home duties, school, and work but SRA helps make it easier for us through providing SUPPORT. All of this is possible through donations! If you are interested in donating, please do! Quarter-end is a month and a half away for some companies - use it or lose it. Don't lose the money, consider donating to SRA. I've served on the board of Georgians for a Healthy Future for several years now. Too often, Georgia has policies in place that don't allow people to thrive, particularly if you are not wealthy. We are counting on 𝟖𝟎 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 to make a gift in support of our Housing is Health initiative.
