Dress for Success Triangle NC Women Making Change Luncheon was very well supported. It was a joy to also witness the launch of our “In Her Shoes” initiative. What an incredible way to bring context to someone’s journey to economic independence. The keynote speaker, Francie Gottsegen, President of North Carolina Football Club and North Carolina Courage shared her journey to success. She was authentic and inspiring and I am hoping to be able to actually read her address as a way to reflect and refuel. It should be memorialized.
A huge thank you to my dear friend Dawn MacLaren who invited me to sit at her table with the most wonderful women in the world. I call Dawn, the mover and shaker. Her influence paved the way for me to be where I am today and I am and always will be forever grateful.
I was delighted to have Lisa Horton, MLHR join us for this celebration. Allow me to share a little bit about her impact in my son’s life. Last year, when my son and I were not only changing family structure but school community, Lisa, who was the Chief People and Culture Officer at the time, did not hesitate to inform us of and invite Daniel to consider participating in dialogue facilitation. This provided a place to connect immediately. Through rigorous training and preparation, he has now joined the group of student facilitators and has noted the impact of this work in his high school journey.
Women - we are making change! With every hand extended, with every opportunity given.
