I have seen some posts buzzing around #LinkedIn feed regarding a comparison of a #OlympicsGoldMedalist #ArshadNadeem and may be a quiz champion who defeated 300 candidates in a #championship Outside #Pakistan I am not saying that her achievement is nothing or not getting negative but the point is that the world works on the algorithm of #capitalism from since centuries. The moment you give business you will get the appreciation. The more you get the business the more you will get the appreciation. 1 day after #ArshadNadeem won the #GoldMedal in #ParisOlympics a young blood from #Swat #KhyberPakhtunKhwah won a gold in in #WorldTaekwando #Championship in #Thailand people tried to make him famous by criticising the stake holders but who cares? He was not the one who was bringing in the business that is the bitter truth. So comparing Arshad and the prizes he has been awarded with anyone in the recent times is a stupid move or i may say the one who do it has no idea how the world works. I am acknowledging other's achievements but i am never going to compare them with Arshad. Why? First of all, he was representing the country at the biggest stage in the world, Secondly, he won the gold in one of the major games in Olympics. The third reason is the men games are more competitive than the others. So, these reasons made him more popular and yes one more thing which is meant to be mentioned is he won it without any #Aid and proper training. So these reasons are evidently distinguishing him from other players and their achievements. #CapitalismAndRecognition #FinancialImpactOverAchievement #ValueDrivenByRevenue #ArshadNadeem #ParisOlympics #Pakistan #TheCapitalistAlgorithm #BusinessOverMerit #RecognitionForSale #ThePriceOfSuccess #Capitalist realities #AchievementVsProfit #TheValueOfSuccess #OlympicGoldMedalist #TaekwondoChampion #QuizChampion #SocietalValues #EconomicRealities #MeritocracyVsCapitalism #InequalityInRecognition

What an iconic photo for South Africans! Support is a Performance Multiplier This photo screams, "I got your back!" Things I noticed this past week leading up to the fight between Dricus Du Plessis and Israel Adesanya were the support of South African sportsmen, celebrities, and the average South African alike. Would I have watched the bout otherwise? of course. Would Dricus have won otherwise? I definitely think so. But the effect of support is undeniable. The bottom line: Support acts as a multiplier for performance. Just as nations that invest in their athletes reap the rewards on the world stage, companies that invest in their employees will see the benefits in their bottom line. It’s not just about providing the tools and resources; it’s about creating an environment where individuals feel valued and empowered to perform at their best. In conclusion, whether on the track or in the boardroom, the level of support provided can be the difference between good and great. Organizations that understand and implement this will not only boost performance but also foster a culture of excellence and innovation. Just as athletes bring home gold for their countries, supported employees bring success and growth to their organizations. #DDP #Eben #Siya #SouthAfrica #MMA #winning #performance #support #UFC #sport

A Lesson from Gianmarco Tamberi and Mutaz Barshim Does anyone remember what happened in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics when two high jumpers cleared the same height and faced a jump-off to determine the winner? Gianmarco Tamberi and Mutaz Barshim made an unprecedented decision: they chose to share the gold medal. With a simple nod and an embrace, Tamberi and Barshim showcased the true essence of sportsmanship, highlighting that sometimes the journey and the bonds we form along the way are more valuable than the medals we seek. Their decision reminds us all of the following: - Collaboration Over Competition: In both sports and business, collaboration can lead to greater achievements and deeper connections than competition ever could. - Shared Success: Success is sweeter when shared. Celebrating each other's victories can create a more supportive and enriching environment. - Human Connection: At the heart of every endeavour are the relationships we build. Prioritising these connections can lead to more meaningful and fulfilling experiences. How important is teamwork, celebrating collective success, and cherishing friendships in your professional life? #Collaboration #Leadership #Teamwork

If you need reassurance about the state of humanity this story is for you. For the past two Olympics these two world class competitors have reminded us what it looks like to be a champion before the competition is over. Three years ago, in Tokyo, Gianmarco Tamberi of Italy and Mutaz Essa Barshim of Qatar made the headlines after they were unable to break the tie in the final of the high jump. When an official proposed a “jump-off” to determine the sole gold medalist, Barshim responded with “Can we have two golds?” With that one question, these athletes chose to redefine what it looks like to be at the height of your greatness- not standing above others, but standing beside them. This past week, 4 years later, in Paris, I watched as they showed not just the other athletes but all of us who were watching what true sportsmanship looks like. In the men’s high jump qualification round, Barshim ran towards the jump but pulled away at the last minute hopping in pain on one foot and then eventually going down to the ground. The first person to rush to his side was Tamberi who had just failed at his own jump. He could have chosen to stay focused on himself and what he needed to do for his next jump. Instead he rushed to his competitor’s side, thinking of Barshim’s needs over his own. In fact the first medical team member to arrive was someone from Puerto Rico’s team, a further testament to putting people first. Later, Barshim and Tamberi both completed their jumps making it to the final where Barshim finished with the bronze. In a world saturated with stories of division and headlines of despair, where negativity and hatred often steal the spotlight, we need moments like these. They remind us that we have a choice—a choice in how we carry each moment, in which handle we choose to hold. To not focus on what divides us but in the shared humanity that connects us. #parisolympics #highjump #championmindset #olympians #parisolympics2024 #sportsmanship #humanityfirst #weareallhuman #connectionmatters #goodnews #kindnessmatters #feelgoodstory #goodnewsonly #peoplefirst

LinkedIn and all other social media platforms are bombarded with posts about Arshad Nadeem’s incredible gold medal victory. Do you see all companies sharing Arshad's achievements on their official pages, adorned with their logos and stories of his remarkable journey? There is no doubt that he has made Pakistan proud and inspired each one of us with his determination and talent. My only point is, where were we when he couldn’t even afford a proper javelin? Where were these companies who are now eagerly posting about him? Why wasn't there more support through sponsorships or financial assistance when he needed it most? This raises important questions about how we support our athletes. While celebrating their victories is essential, let's also commit to standing by them during their struggles. Companies and organizations have a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact by investing in the potential of athletes like Arshad, ensuring they have the resources they need to excel. As we continue to share and celebrate Arshad's success, let’s reflect on how we can provide tangible support to nurture future champions. Let's turn our admiration into action, fostering an environment where talent is supported from the ground up. A moment to celebrate an extraordinary achievement, which also underscores a powerful truth: we all need support to reach our full potential. Lahja Ishitille has just shattered a world record and won gold for Namibia in the Women's 400m T11 Final. As a blind athlete, Lahja doesn’t just rely on her own strength and determination - she has a running companion, a guide who runs alongside her, providing direction, strategy, and communication every step of the way. This partnership is a testament to how crucial it is to have people in our lives who lift us up, challenge us, and help us navigate through obstacles. Lahja’s success is not only a reflection of her incredible talent and perseverance but also of the unwavering support from those who believe in her and guide her. In our own journeys, whether personal or professional, let’s remember that reaching our highest potential often requires a team effort. It’s about having those who run beside us, helping us see beyond our limitations, and pushing us to achieve what we might have once thought impossible. Lahja’s world record is a victory for everyone who understands that success isn’t achieved alone but through the collective strength of those who support and guide us. Here’s to celebrating the power of collaboration and the incredible impact of having someone who believes in us. 🥇🙌 #SupportAndSuccess #Teamwork #WorldRecord #LahjaIshitille

Let’s not beat around the bush: storytelling takes time and love for the subject. It requires patience, the ability to stop, restart, take three steps back, and then five forward. The world of sailing, in particular, is far from being filled with romantic seafarers gazing at the ocean with dreamy eyes. It’s made up of passionate and pragmatic individuals, constantly pushing the boundaries – both technical and psychological. People who look far ahead but are entirely focused on the present moment. You can sense it when you watch them in action during an America’s Cup round or in the rare footage from offshore races. But to fully grasp it, you have to talk to them: poetry follows action, not the other way around. Working with SLAM to tell the story of Emirates Team New Zealand was the perfect example of pure, unfiltered storytelling. The kind of project where, if you don’t take the time to observe, listen, and truly understand who you’re dealing with, you won’t get anywhere. A project where satisfaction isn’t measured in smiles or handshakes but in concrete actions. It was one of those challenges where we often thought we wouldn’t make it… and yet, there it is: used by SLAM and ETNZ as part of their America’s Cup communication. It took us some time to realize it, but now we can say it with confidence: we were part of it too. Thanks to Maurizio Priano, SLAM and Emirates Team New Zealand for the opportunity.
Slam approached us with the task of supporting their campaign for Emirates Team New Zealand, an iconic team participating in the America’s Cup. The challenge was to authentically narrate the story of a team deeply rooted in the world of sailing, capturing their unique spirit while ensuring the content resonated with global audiences during a time of heightened media attention. We immersed ourselves in the essence of Emirates Team New Zealand, drawing inspiration from their innovation, resilience, and profound connection to the sea. Our approach focused on crafting impactful and meaningful content that authentically represented the team, while aligning with SLAM’s vision and the America’s Cup’s global prestige. The stories we created became part of Emirates Team New Zealand’s official communications during the America’s Cup, at a time when they were in the global media spotlight. Building a Legacy Beyond Sport 🇯🇲 When I started my journey as Jamaica’s first male Olympic diver, I didn’t just want to represent my country—I wanted to create opportunities for others to follow. Now, my focus is on making that vision a reality. In a recent interview with International Olympic Committee – IOC, I reflected on what drives me now: - Breaking barriers: My goal is to ensure I’m not the last Jamaican diver to make history. - Creating pathways: I’m working to develop programmes that make diving accessible to young Jamaicans. - Inspiring change: Whether it’s through sport or public speaking, I want to empower the next generation to dream big and defy expectations. This mission isn’t just about sport—it’s about opening doors, changing mindsets, and creating a platform for future leaders. 💬 Let’s keep the conversation going! How do we create more opportunities for young people to thrive in non-traditional spaces? Share your thoughts below, tag someone who’d find this inspiring, and follow me for updates on my journey! #LegacyBuilding #Jamaica #SportsDevelopment #PublicSpeaking #Inspiration https://lnkd.in/eGTgRcUd
