Residents will see no disruption in fire rescue service when the Jupiter Fire Rescue Department (JFRD) goes into service on October 1, 2026. In fact, the JFRD will have the same number of fire engines, rescue vehicles and stations as are currently offered in Town. JFRD will also have a ladder truck, which currently has to be brought in from outside of Town, and will be staffed by three additional firefighters. The department will also partner with the Jupiter Police Department’s Marine Patrol and will place a firefighter/paramedic on the patrol boat to provide lifesaving aid on Jupiter’s waterways. Watch a more in-depth video discussing the creation of the JFRD as well as documents and communications related to the creation of the department on the Town's website at https://lnkd.in/evvG8Ar4. #TownOfJupiter #JFRD #BeginningFromExcellance

BESS fire and explosion in Northern Germany earlier this week - two firefighters injured. Knowledge of how to handle such fires should be a high priority for fire brigades. A curious point from a news article is that the police has estimated the losses to be 500 000 Euros - since when did the police become loss adjustors? #bess #fire #firefighting #safetyatwork #future #sustainability #repowereu #greendeal #greentransition #riskmanagement

Senior Risk Engineer HDI Risk Consulting bei HDI Global SE - Global Risk Managment, local Risk Engineering.
A basic rule for fire protection was not considered: fire separation respectively adequate space separation. Also Standards not considered such as VdS, NFPA855 or FM. A bit strange how close dwellings are and that fire fighting seems not adequately address the way lithium batteries burn. BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) are booming everywhere. No problem as long as fire protection is well addressed considering process safety such as adequate BMS (Battery Management Systems), State-of-the-art intelligent battery monitoring systems such as those from ACCURE (a partner of HDI) and adequate active & passive fire protection plus adequate fire fighting. HDI consults, informs and supports our clients with adequate risk engineering advice and tailored concepts. Thanks Grunde for that video.

VESSEL REVIEW: Australia’s Northern Territory Police, Fire and Emergency Services recently took delivery of a new fast patrol RIB designed by Southerly Designs. 'Deutrom' was purpose designed, built, and equipped for police operations requiring very high speed and the ability to carry multiple personnel. The vessel will operate within coastal areas of up to 15 nautical miles. It will provide a quick response capability for near-shore search and rescue (SAR) missions allowing specialist police the ability to deploy to assistance calls faster and in greater safety and provide a stable platform to provide rescue. The vessel will also be used to provide a suitable boarding platform for vessel boarding in support of higher-risk policing operations. Other missions include dive support and deployment of police to remote locations without vehicle or aircraft access. Two 223kW (300hp) outboard engines capable of quiet operation can propel the boat to speeds of up to 50 knots. Combined with power steering and digital throttles with active ride control, the outboards make the boat highly responsive and provide predictable handling for the crew. Do you think a fire is something that could never happen in your home or place of business? Think again. In the U.S., a fire department responds to a fire every 21 seconds, and a home fire-related death occurs every 3 hours and 14 minutes. In 2022 alone, 1,504,500 fires led to 3,790 civilian deaths and 13,250 injuries, while 96 firefighters tragically lost their lives on duty. 🚒 These statistics highlight the urgent need for fire safety and prevention. Tragic. The Marine Board will be an interesting. It also shows how significant the impacts of port closure can be.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the U.S. Coast Guard Sector NCR, multiple first responders, and all those affected by the tragic incident at the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore. According to reports, a 948-foot Singapore-flagged containership collided with the bridge causing it to collapse, with persons reported to be in the water. The Coast Guard is currently coordinating with local, state, and federal agencies for search and rescue efforts. Response boat crews and a helicopter crew are actively on the scene, with investigators and pollution responders en-route. Mariners are urged to avoid the area, with a 2000-yard safety zone issued for the surrounding waters. Our hearts go out to those involved in this incident. Please see the Coast Guard's press release for more information on the incident.
