🌊 Celebrating World Ocean Day! 🌍 🐬 With oceans covering 71% of the Earth’s surface with over 80% of it being unmapped and unexplored. And harbouring 89% of all animal life, protecting our oceans is fundamental. Not least as one of the largest carbon sinks in the world with coastal habitats storing 5 times more carbon than tropical rainforests, protecting these natural beauties become a must for all life to be sustained. When celebrating the UNs World Ocean day we are reminded about the vast yet fragile nature of our world. Ones values of security, safety and independence for example would all be broken if our oceans are diminished. Six Degrees we understand our clients values, which are all driven by personal experiences in childhood. We recognise the importance of understanding these to determine the purpose of wealth and therefore get to the right strategy. As we celebrate the UN's World Ocean Day, it’s essential to recognize how the health of our oceans directly impacts every aspect of our lives, from the environment to our personal values. Imagine a world without whales, The ocean's ecosystem would be drastically altered, as whales play a crucial role in maintaining balance and health in marine environments. Without them, the food chain would be disrupted, and many other species could face extinction. Whales also contribute to the removal of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, helping to mitigate climate change. Their presence in the oceans is not only essential for marine life but also for the well-being of our entire planet. Let's continue to support conservation efforts and celebrate these magnificent creatures. Happy World Whale Day! Let's raise awareness about the importance of protecting whales and their habitats to ensure a sustainable future for all species. Together, we can make a difference in preserving these majestic animals for generations to come.

An ocean without fish? Purina Europe introduces its first-ever Ocean Restoration program to restore underwater habitats The ocean is vital for all life on earth and the survival of marine life is severely threatened due to climate change and human actions such as pollution and overfishing. Nearly 50% of all oceans have been significantly damaged, resulting in the loss of precious marine habitats. Joint efforts are more important than ever! Today, we are introducing Purina Europe's first Ocean Restoration program. Our goal is to restore 1,500 hectares of marine habitats by 2030. We are joining forces with partners based in the Netherlands @Sea Ranger Service, @Oyster Heaven and European partners @Urchinomics and @SeaForester to help scale up their innovative solutions such as planting seagrass meadows, reconstructing oyster reefs, removing excess sea urchins, and restoring disappearing seaweed forests, which form crucial habitats for marine life, including fish that are part of Purina's supply chain.🌍🐟 Want to learn more about the program? Feel free to contact us. #OceanRestoration #PurinaEurope #bettertogether #Sustainability

🌊 Happy World Ocean Day! 🌊 Today, let's take a moment to celebrate our amazing oceans and remember how deeply connected we are to them. Our well-being is tied to the health of our oceans, and we can't have one without the other. Think about it: when we protect marine life, we're also helping the communities that rely on the sea for their livelihoods and culture. Sustainable fishing, eco-tourism, and community-driven conservation aren't just buzzwords—they're real ways we can make a difference. Imagine local communities using their traditional knowledge alongside modern science to take care of their waters. Picture us all working together, ensuring that the oceans can continue to provide for us and future generations. It's a beautiful vision, and it's within our reach. On this World Ocean Day, commit to caring for our oceans in ways that also care for the people who depend on them. Together, we can create a future where both people and nature thrive! 🌊💙 #WorldOceanDay #SustainableFuture #OceanConservation #PeopleAndNature #TogetherForThePlanet #PeopleNeedOceans

People always ask me, why the ocean? Why ocean conservation? And my honest answer is, God. The ocean is where I feel closest to God, it’s where I see Him the most clearly. God is an artist. And as an artist myself, the ocean is where I can most appreciate the masterpiece God has created through the natural world. Today, World Reef Awareness Day, I want to spotlight one of God’s best pieces, His reefs. The color, the biodiversity, the life, the strength, the complexity, the resilience of coral reefs will never cease to inspire me. And besides just looking pretty, they are also fascinating to learn about: 🪸Corals are animals, not plants 🫨Corals can move 🐠Corals support 25% of all marine life ⛈️Corals act as barriers to coastal communities during storms Globally, our world’s reefs aren’t doing as well as they used to. With threats from all sides, including trawling, overfishing, ocean acidification, and climate change, our world’s reefs are suffering significantly from human impact. But with all of the constant doom and gloom messaging, I also want to point out that we should not lose hope for our reefs. Like I said before, reefs are strong. They are resilient. A bleached coral is not a dead coral. Reefs can recover from natural disasters. But this means that we have to start making room for that recovery to be possible. Marine protection, greenhouse gas reduction, and coral reef planting, to name a few, are actions that when compounded can help bring us closer to healthy reefs and healthy oceans. The beauty of the world’s reefs is fading, but it has not faded completely. This is why ocean conservation is my passion. Because I believe that God’s art is worth protecting. -- If you want to learn more about coral reefs, why they are important, and what you can do to save them, go follow Coral Reef Alliance. As their name suggests, they are an excellent resource on all things coral reefs! 🪸 #worldreefawarenessday #oceanconservation

On today World Ocean Day 🌊, we’re spotlighting this year’s theme ‘Catalysing Action for Our Ocean & Climate’ by highlighting a number of brand initiatives from Citizen Brands. Our first spotlight brand is Sheba, Mars's beloved cat food brand. 🐈 Our planet faces an urgent climate crisis, and the health of our oceans is critical in combating this threat. Sheba has been making waves since 2021 with its Hope Grows initiative, the world’s largest coral reef restoration programme 🪸🪸🪸. Sheba has pledged to restore over 185,000 sq metres of coral reefs by 2029, an effort that underscores the interdependence of all life forms – from our feline friends to marine ecosystems. At the heart of this initiative is Hope Reef, a 150-ft-long restored reef off Salisi’ Besar that spells out the word HOPE, visible from space. This beacon of restoration demonstrates the power of human innovation to address environmental challenges. 💗 Scientists warn that 90% of the world’s tropical reefs could vanish by 2043, threatening the survival of 25% of all marine species. Sheba’s use of ‘reef star’ technology in reef restoration shows that solutions to man-made problems are within our grasp. 🐠 Sheba’s mission goes beyond restoration; it aims to inspire governments, businesses, and communities to join the cause. By taking the lead, Sheba is creating ripples of change that can grow into waves of collective action for ocean health. Let’s celebrate World Ocean Day 🌊 by acknowledging Sheba’s extraordinary efforts. Together, we can protect and restore our oceans, ensuring a vibrant, healthy planet for all species. Here’s to making HOPE visible from space and beyond! 🌌🪸
