In my role, I conceptualize, design, and manage all types of projects. Projects can be as small as adding bins and conveyors, or as large as all new production facilities. ❓ What drew you to work at Kalmbach? I grew up working in my father’s small business, and then spent the first fifteen years of my career working for large corporations. I was looking to get back to that small family business feel and have found that here at Kalmbach. In my role I know and can go to the President for answers or purchases without waiting for the weeks of red tape that I had experienced in the past. ❓ What is something you’ve learned about Kalmbach since joining the team that you think makes our organization special or unique? From day one, I found the leadership here at Kalmbach to be transparent and have a willingness to communicate openly even as I was brand new to the team. ❓ Why should someone consider joining the Kalmbach team? Kalmbach is a growing organization, and this is a company where team members can come to grow if they have the desire to do so. As our team wraps QBRs and we lean into another strong quarter ahead – I wanted to shout out the recent promotions of Jacob Hitz as Deal Desk Associate and Dan Grille as Regional Sales Manager from my team. I’m incredibly proud of the work these two have put in to earn these spots. Today's #WomensHistoryMonth celebration is for Daniella Cardenas! Daniella has been a Marketing Coordinator at Amwins for almost 2 years, and in the last 8 months or so, it's been really fun watching her come into her own! When Daniella started, she was this really quiet employee, who would just kind of hang in the background... 18 months later, it is pretty evident what she was up to. She was taking time to learn, grow, and just find her footing on her team. Now she is someone who I would call a model employee! All of her requests are really clear and well-written, she is always able to answer any questions I ever have, and she always tries to make things better. (None of this growth is surprising considering her boss is Megan Talley, MBA, but we will get to her celebration another day 😂) But even with all of those awesome attributes, what I admire most about Daniella is who she is at her core as a person, and how she transfers that into her career. She is the kind of person who will ALWAYS do the right thing, even when no one is looking or if she will get credit. She always shows up on time and ready to work. She wants to earn everything she gets and doesn't just want it given to her. She will take any task and treat it like it's the most important item on her (extremely long) to-do list. Basically I want to be like Daniella, and so many other people should too. #WomenInMarketing #WomenInInsurance #Amwins #RoleModel #Inspiration

Hiring Managers, I know it's frustrating when you lose a Champion Candidate to another company. Stay with me on this.... My grandson shows Pygmy goats for 4H and we decided to upgrade our herd and add two more from a local breeder known for producing Champions. He was so excited! The day came for us to go check out new Champion Prospects. First, we identified those that had the best confirmation and appeared to be show correct. Once we had them separated, we looked them over one-by-one. He finally selected the one he was sure to be a Champion! As I started to pay the breeder, she realized she made a mistake, and that goat had already been sold. We missed him by TWO DAYS! The market for Champion Candidates is brutal right now. If you're looking for them, you can bet your competition is as well. You don't have the luxury of time. Here is my suggestion - When you schedule the first interview, block-out a time for the 2nd interview that is within no more than five days from the 1st. If you have more than two interviews in your process, block those out as well. Granted, the candidate may have conflicts but usually they will do their best to make themselves available. Don't miss them by two days! Get your Champion! It took us several more months to find his little guy here!
