Glossier has partnered with the WNBA for the past four years. But, over the summer, the brand announced that it would be the WNBA’s first official beauty partner, and the first dedicated sponsor since 1996. But what does this mean for the Glossier brand?   For one, the brand will use WNBA superstars, like A'ja Wilson or Kahleah Copper, to promote products. According to Bussines of Fashion, Glossier will provide make-up for high-profile events, like the opening ceremony on July 26th. You can also expect more ads on players’ social media pages. But will you still buy it now that she's gone? I doubt I will. Over the weekend Rosie Huntington-Whitely announced that she would sadly no longer be involved with her brand Rose Inc. Rose Inc has had a challenging few years with their parent company Amyris filing for bankruptcy in 2023, resulting in the brand being sold on to AA Investments according to The Business of Fashion. The brand exclusively stocked in MECCA Brands, SEPHORA and SpaceX alongside their own channels, has been painted as a quiet luxury, exclusive brand, much in the same way that Rosie Huntington-Whitely brands herself. As is the case with most partnerships where founders have a public presence, these stockist partnerships are founded on both the product and founder's influence. In the case of Rose Inc, it is in fact Rosie Huntington-Whitely that was a key USP of the brand making it so appealing to their customers. So, it poses the question, will consumers continue to buy into the brand now that she is not a part of it? This year’s big game is shaping up to be the sport’s glow-up moment. Fashion and beauty will be everywhere Sunday night in Las Vegas. Boss released a capsule collection with the NFL. Commercial breaks are going to be stuffed with ads for E.l.f., CeraVe and other beauty brands (at $7 million for a 30-second spot). Taylor Swift is at the forefront of a WAG renaissance, as athletes’ partners prove to be the perfect vectors for brands looking to connect with football fans. Usher, this year’s halftime act, was all over Paris Fashion Week last fall and is fronting Skims’ latest men’s campaign.
