Tuesday has been another exciting day on our Oregon-Denmark Industrial Symbiosis Study Tour. Our super hosts Kalundborg Symbiosis, took our delegation along the 50+ year journey of the first industrial symbiosis park in the world. We participated in an innovation workshop featuring Meliora Bio where we learned about the modern state of the art biorefinery upcycling straw for bioethanol, prebiotics, and lignin. In addition, we toured the Novonesis wastewater treatment plant to learn more about their enzymes and microbial technology. Thank you so much to Lisbeth Randers, Mette Wendel, and Per Møller at Kalundborg Symbiosis for all the great work they are doing, and their continued support for these valuable knowledge exchanges with the Pacific Northwest!
