What would President Ronald Reagan do if he were alive, to free American Hostages and support United States interests? With full respect to all people who are innocent. Like fish in a drifting gill net, we are caught between lingering hate, inhumane actions, and perpetual reactions, which ensue due to the depravity of the mind and void of reconciliation. I visited the Holocaust Museum for a 2nd time, to gain understanding, and my heart goes out to the Israel people and non-Hamas Palestinians. I’ll start with saying that, leadership is important to me, throughout my life. While in the military “I served at the leisure of whomever was President.” It did not matter if they were Democrat or Republican, I served, and served proudly. Also, I distinctly knew the difference among good and poor leadership and/or poor leadership decision making. For me, it's not what side of the isle you stand or sit on, American lives are not bargaining chips. Today, our country is once again being tested, and while it does not seem like it at the moment, we must remember that we are a country of “law and order.” This is the cost of living in a world with diverse interests. We also know that leading a world requires bold leadership, and controlling our own destiny, while chaos reigns from a lack of clarity, and the byproduct of indecision. It also reigns from allowing the continued poor leadership of one of our allies to determine the fate of our American Hostages. Its time to step up, and direct our ally to step aside, in order to protect our #1 direct interest, American Hostages. Though this may not seem politically correct to some - to me, it’s worth potentially losing an election for the good of our citizens. If it means a loss of support, damn the politics, get our people home! The political destiny is far worse for the Democrats to not take decisive action, and risk losing American lives and/or risk waiting for a new President to end this with certainty. Remember when President Ronald Reagan came to Power? Strong leadership on this issue is fiercely lacking. It’s not a time to wait for ideal platforms to speak from or aiming to strike just the right political message for one group or another. It’s a time to heal America, with leadership! Taking the best action, despite the politics, and adhering to our higher standards, maintaining our international standing and relevance throughout the world. What does this mean? As it involves American hostages, remove all impediments to diplomacy, force clarity publicly, and act with the same clarity privately. With or without allies - act decisively but act! Years past, the “Big Stick” theory meant something! The world understood the cost of an American life. Also, inaction devalues our threat deterrence capability, and the cost of inaction, in turn, creates fertile ground for chaos here at home. I titled this message with, “[w]hat would President Reagan do?” Have a listen, and you will know the answer.

It's been a crazy last four years. We lived through a pandemic, recession has bit deep, two major wars have started, there have been waves of protests on a variety of issues. Every US president has difficulties during their four year election cycle. Perhaps not to the degree of our last four years, but Ronald Reagan found a brilliant way to highlight them when he was challenging Jimmy Carter. In the closing remarks of their Presidential Debate, he asked the audience "Are you better off than you were four years ago?". This simple question pulled attention to any and all grievances the public might have with the current administration, and it was one of many clever uses of messaging that helped Reagan pull off the rare feat of beating an incumbent president. Reagan was known as "The Great Orator", and we can see more of his messaging coming through in his inaugrational speech. For the rainy days ahead, here a goldie clip which is still of substance for today's economic reality (definitely worth watching the whole clip - especially given the dignity and respect Reagan represented). From 7:45, Ronald Reagan's take on inflation: Reagan: I think the answer to curing inflation is a balanced budget. Johnny Carson: Now how do you do that? Reagan: It's like protecting your virtue. You have to learn to say "no". 😁 https://lnkd.in/dJxGngss

Great motto for 2024. One of the most effective employee benefits employers can offer is attention. Often just a thank you is enough. Because everyone is happy to receive a thank you. What do you do when the enemy is vanquished? Who do you do fight when the fight is won? Where do you go when all roads open up to you? This was the dilemma that faced Bill Clinton as he stepped up to the podium as President of the United States. Throughout living memory, the USA had been fighting the Soviets. It had provided them with a shadow to identify themselves against, a benchmark to compare themselves with, and a resolve to strive for better. Truman, Eisenhower, JFK, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, and Bush had all been able to position themselves against this spectre of evil. But with a stroke of a pen, poof, the USSR was signed out of existence on the 26th of December 1991. The USA had won, or at least avoided losing, but what did victory mean? Clinton was the first US President faced with the task of defining what the United States looked like in a post Cold War world, on the eve of a new century and millennium. How would he do it? I've analysed Clinton's 1993 Inauguration Speech to determine what new course he saw for America, and how well he signposted it. Watch this video to find out what happens once the war is over. #publicspeaking #leadership #speeches

In light of recent events and the troubling news about former President Trump, it's clear that our nation stands at a critical crossroads. The divisions we face today echo the time when our country was on the brink of civil war. The intense polarization, the breakdown of civil discourse, and the growing distrust among fellow Americans are all reminiscent of the pre-Civil War era. We must seek common ground, and work towards our more perfect union.
