Starting a new job is incredibly exciting, but it is often accompanied by a bit of nervousness. What will people think of me? Will I fit in? Will I meet expectations? However, all those nerves vanished after my first day at anzuk Education. I was fortunate to meet two wonderful individuals, Lucy Kammermann and Carla Jarufe, who are also in anzuk's academy program with me. These two have hearts (and stomachs) of gold. If you are ever in Brisbane and need a foodie buddy, don’t be shy to reach out to them – they never say no to good food! Our first day was led by Elly Georgiou and Tara Schultz-Furler who made us feel instantly welcomed. We covered the academy’s purpose, schedule, rotations, career pathways, and success in the program. We also had lunch with former program members who shared their invaluable insights and first-hand experiences. This made the learning process more relatable and encouraging, setting the stage for a smooth transition into the rest of the onboarding week. The onboarding week stood out for several reasons: 1) Structured: The week had a clear mission and a well-defined schedule, providing a comprehensive understanding of what to expect. 2) Organisational Insight: Learning about anzuk's story, values, and cross-collaborative teams made me appreciate their purpose even more – it is clear that we are part of something special here. 3) Networking Opportunities: Meeting other new employees from various departments (and states!) was a pleasant surprise and allowed us to build early connections. 4) Supportive Environment: Our accommodation and meal expenses were covered, allowing us to focus entirely on learning and bonding without logistical concerns. This thoughtful gesture truly set the tone for the week.   The week was packed with learning, networking, and personal growth, clearly demonstrating that anzuk value their people as their greatest asset. It reinforced why I chose anzuk Education and showed me how dedicated the organisation is to creating exceptional experiences. Grateful for the opportunity and here's to the new adventure ahead! P.S. Special shoutout to Vaishali Sudan for capturing this moment! ❤️
