🌟 That feeling you get when you begin a journey of a lifetime 🌟. 🎉 Everyone remembers their first time at Disney. You walk into the park, and you feel that excitement in the air, where reality seems to fade, and the only thing that matters is the magic you feel 🪄. 🎉 I can never forget my first time going to Disney, and while that feeling may not be the same as it was my very first time; those memories are core celebrations that stay locked in my brain forever. However, If I can compare that feeling to anything else, I can always compare it to my first day at Southwest Airlines 💙❤️💛. 🔹️ My first day at Southwest resembled the exact same feeling I had when I walked through those “Golden Gates” to the Disney Castle. I walked in dressed to impress in my Southwest gear, like how I was in my Disney gear. 🔹️ I remember before learning about any rule, policy, or schedule – I was greeted with LUV, smiles, and cheers down a red carpet; just like Disney as you are greeted by all the characters cheering your way into the park. 🔹️ And lastly, I left my first day feeling like a changed person, and even though every day is always not rainbows and sunshine, I still think back to my very first day and how the People keep our Culture alive, just like how they do at Disney. 🎉 Today we had 60 Cohearts that embarked in that feeling today. There’s lives will change as their Southwest journeys will mold them into future leaders, as well as caring for our customers as we continue to navigate change 🙏. 🎉 It is a journey that is exciting, and while there may be bumps along thebway – we will be there cheering them one every step of the way, just like how we are cheering for YOU to land that new journey. 💫 When my arrival was announced, I was welcomed as the “helm of the ship”, and this year we have definitely traveled the course together as a global force in real estate. 📈 More than 1.5 million licensees are active with National Association of REALTORS®, over 60 thousand already lost in 2023 and this is projected to go much higher, as the upcoming year is a mandatory continuing education renewal. 🏔️ Indisputably one of the most challenging years in the history of real estate, I am immensely proud that RE/MAX Legends Chicagoland is finishing the year as the leader in closed volume* of over 40 offices in the Oak Brook territory as well as the leader in highest net agent count for recruit & retention in all of Illinois of 146 REMAX offices. 🎯With our most recent expansion, that is to be revealed soon, we may very well be the number one office in the region and perhaps the nation! Never forget your roots… When my mom passed away in May 2022, I inherited these original Micky and Minnie Mouse statues that my uncle had in his office while working in media relations for The Walt Disney Company. He and his family toured the world while working at the Most Magical Place on Earth, including a long tenure in Japan after Tokyo Disneyland opened in April 1983. But my Disney roots don’t stop there. Believe it or not, I’m what you would call an “OG Disney Baby.” I was born 13 1/2 months after the Park opened at Orange Memorial Hospital (now known as ORLANDO REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER), where all the Disney employees had their babies back in the day. My dad was a lead project manager for the team that built the infamous Cinderella Castle. That’s right, my daddy built the biggest castle on Earth!! 🏰 He also worked closely with Roy Disney and traveled regularly with him to gather new design ideas for the Park. I don’t recall it, but my mom, sister and I visited the Park almost everyday for several years, and we took many of rides on Space Mountain at a time when it constantly broke down. This may explain my lukewarm reaction to rollercoasters, to the dismay of my husband. About a year ago, I reorganized my office and placed these statues right at eye view from my desk. They remind me that I was born into a world of creativity and magic, and I shouldn’t forget that. My road to building my own business again wasn’t one I expected to take, and I know now that it’s exactly where I need to be. Here, I can use my creativity for good and sprinkle magic into my client’s work everyday. I get to tell great stories and watch the twinkle in my clients’ eyes when a news story gets placed or employees praise the company’s engagement efforts. “Creativity” in the business/corporate world can be a bad word sometimes. Good people get placed in the “creativity” box on a team and frequently aren’t given leadership opportunities.
