It has been a busy few month… Unlike other semesters, summer courses seem to coax students into engaging with the material with a delightful lightness of being yet with laser-focused intent—think of it as learning with a dash of sunscreen for clarity and precision. In my economics, finance, entrepreneurship, or international affairs classes, I encourage students to find solutions leading to impactful and positive outcomes. It is a privilege to be part of their intellectual explorations as they shape their careers while promoting positive change. As I prepare to be the faculty advisor for a new Columbia | SIPA Capstone consulting team this coming semester, I want to acknowledge the stellar work completed by last spring's Capstone team in collaboration with Desai & Associates (D&A) and in partnership with United Nations DESA and AVPN impact investment member firms. Their research didn’t just map selected SDG projects and impact investor landscape in Asia; it also drew insights aimed at catalyzing impact investments.
