Welcome to my Greenland adventure! My beacon is the belief that experiencing culture and geography is expansive. Since high school it has provided me a constant source of inspiration. This summer, I was invited by Matt Prior to join an intimate group of innovators and entrepreneurs far off the grid in Greenland. What was expansive from this experience? Exploring Greenland wasn’t just about the landscapes. Yes, the sheer scale of the icebergs and fjords left me in absolute wonder, but even more colossal was the untouched beauty of our planet. There were so many things I did not know about glaciers and icebergs. It served as a reminder of the importance of preserving these remote and fragile ecosystems. I have been to many places around the globe. This truly was awe-inspiring and will be hard to top. Greenland’s population density is less than 0.14 people per square kilometer, concentrated in a few small settlements. I typically seek out immersion with people beyond my own cultural context. I value the richness that diversity brings to the human experience. As we joined our sea vessel and set sail for this scarcely populated nation, I had rather low expectations on cultural connection. Quite unexpectedly, the intimacy formed amongst our group of adventurers was unlike anything else I have experienced. We deepened one another’s understanding of self, and elevated the positive impact we are bringing to the planet. Thankfully I was captured on video as evidence.
