So as a lot of people know its 'World Mental Health Day'. This years theme is 'Workplace Mental Health'. So I recorded this video on Saturday 5th October, on why choose me specifically, to support peoples mental wellbeing in the workplace. The irony of this is when I came to do another video today, it stopped recording after a minute due to me not having enough storage. And I was literally in the middle of sharing, that I was having a 'rare moment' of overwhelm. I had just gone onto a range of posts popping up on LinkedIn. And I found my internal dialogue finding myself 'coming up short'. I was comparing myself to others. It was feeding my worry that I still havnt reached my minimum numbers for my next MHFA England course, starting 5th November in Bromsgrove. And I was having a 'spiral' moment. 😬 Then when I thought of being honest and sharing how I felt. I started to worry about how that might look. And what others may think of me. And I knew it left me feeling very vulnerable. Something I have been working on all my adult life. 😔 When your a small business, and not part of a bigger Organisation, its even more important you do things to look after your own mental health. Especially if your work is supporting other peoples mental health like mine is. So what did I do to help myself today? I got out of my head and walked Willow. 🐕🦮 I watched the video from Saturday, reminding myself its a fleeting moment in time. I took some big deep breaths. And continued to do that for a while. I channelled my thoughts and feelings into writing a poem. (Called 'Gone but not forgotten. Lost in translation') I will share that some other time. I read a lovely message from a friend of 30 years + and wrote the card I had been meaning to send her. 🤗 I reminded myself of all the great work I have done. And am doing with my clients. I know I have some great support with some business networks I am part of. And the relationships I have built up. 🤝 I reminded myself of all the bigger things going on in the world. I know I can take some of my thoughts to my other professional support. Including my Supervisor, Mentor Coach and Gestalt Therapist. I am also taking some leaflets on promoting my next course into Bromsgrove, Friday and Saturday. So back to traditional, good old face to face communication. 🫂 If you know of Individuals and Organisations who would benefit from my MHFA courses, please do share my link.
