My September read was "The Heart of Business" by Hubert Joly, former CEO of Best Buy, which presents a human-centred approach to leadership, rooted in purpose rather than profit maximisation. Why should you read this book? Joly addresses key issues and lessons from his career and the case of Best Buy's transformation, sharing his philosophy and illustrating how businesses can succeed by focusing on people, purpose and care. Joly's key ideas are: 1. Purpose-driven leadership: Success and profit are not the goal, but the results when a company's purpose is aligned with the well-being of employees and customers. 2. Empowering people: A leader's role is to unleash the potential of employees by creating an environment where they feel inspired and motivated. 3. Human connection: Caring for people and fostering genuine relationships within the organisation is essential for long-term success and can unleash 'super powers'. An inspiring perspective on how financial targets can be seen as the result of a focus on people, purpose and care - an evolution of capitalism.

Today we announced key organisational changes, effective 1 February 2024, to make further progress on our value creation journey. These changes are aimed at simplifying the organisational structure to build a more resilient and future-ready organisation in alignment with company strategy. Mr Panote Sirivadhanabhakdi, Group Chief Executive Officer of Frasers Property, commented, “The Group has grown rapidly over the years. After a decade of reshaping our portfolio and building competitive business platforms, we are entering the next phase of our journey. We will continue to focus on delivering long-term sustainable value creation and returns for the business. The organisational structure of the Group needs to support the delivery of our strategy and goals. These leadership changes will enable us to draw deeper upon Group synergies, strengthen business resilience, and build further upon our strengths from both a geography and asset class perspective. I am confident that my leadership team, with our strong strategic alignment, will be able to lead the organisation together as one enterprise, to deliver on our shared ambition to drive sustainable value to all our stakeholders.” Read the full details of announcement at https://lnkd.in/gmVUMVPW. #InspiringExperiences #CreatingPlacesForGood #RealEstate #FrasersProperty

Head of HR | HRBP | Talent Acquisition Head | Employee Engagement Champion | Aspiring Leadership Coach | Southeast Asia HR Operations Lead | Asia Pacific Change & Transformation Lead
Pleased to share and provide clarity on the strategic changes that will position us for our next phase of our evolution as an organization. Following last week's speculative article carried by the media, this provides a better understanding and assurance on the way forward. Drawing from personal experience, companies and the organisations within are always evolving and while the specifics are not always clear, plans are never laid bare and it is always for the betterment of the organization as a whole and to maneuver the external challenges while positioning for growth. These are challenging and exciting times and it is a good opportunity to be a part of a transformational team. Agility and resilience will go a long way towards personal growth, for your team and the organization around you. #recruitment #transformation

Nice read (…)Leadership is about people, and people change every day. If we believe we’ve found the universal key to leading people, we’ve just lost it. If we let our ego determine what we see, what we hear, and what we believe, we’ve let our past success damage our future success.(…) #turnaround #turndaroundmanagement #secondwindcapital

Highly Recommended Read A gripping tale that reveals what occupies the minds of the world’s best business leaders As CEO, most everything that Rich O'Connor did had something to do with at least one of the four disciplines on his famed "yellow sheet." Some of the firm's executives joked that he was obsessed with it. Interestingly, only a handful of people knew what was on that sheet, and so it remained something of a mystery. Which was okay with Rich, because no one really needed to understand it, other than him. He certainly never suspected that it would become the blueprint of an employee's plan to destroy the firm. In this stunning follow-up to his best-selling book, The Five Temptations of a CEO, Patrick Lencioni offers up another leadership fable that's every bit as compelling and illuminating as its predecessor. This time, Lencioni's focus is on a leader's crucial role in building a healthy organization - an often overlooked but essential element of business life that is the linchpin of sustained success.
