🏡 It can be easy to forget that mission and disciple-making exist within our own households in the ordinary places of our life. The old saying, “More is caught than taught,” is a highly relevant adage for raising Godly children. That idea can be terrifying (as our kids get a first-row seat to our brokenness), it can also be liberating! 💣 Even though we celebrate those seemingly extra-Holy families who do 45-minute family devotionals every night and memorize Romans 3 at dinner time, the rest of us normal parents are just trying to hold on and do our best not to powerbomb our kids at bedtime after they refuse to brush their teeth (for the eleventh time!). Most of us are overwhelmed by trying to add ultra-sacred and heavy family practices, so remember this truth: something is better than nothing. 💆♀️ There are 3 super simple, super powerful ideas in the Toolkit to start small and integrate simple practices into your already-existing schedules. Head to https://lnkd.in/g8As5jGu, and scroll to the “Discipling Our Kids” section.

Do you want to raise kids who stand by their principles? Growing up, my parents instilled in me the importance of honesty, kindness, and hard work. These values have been my compass throughout life. Now, as a parent, I aim to pass these same values onto my children. We regularly have family discussions about what matters most to us and how we can live by our values every day. What core values do you want to pass on to your kids? Let’s discuss how we can nurture these values in our homes. What core values are most important in your family? Share your stories and let's help each other expand our vision!

Lead Facilitator, Nehemiah Protege Foundation, MD|CEO at JoeyAkinloye Consults Nig. Ltd. Logistics Entrepreneur, Substance Use Reduction Advocate, Morals & Values Crusader for Young People,
Oprah said, “Every time a child is saved from the dark side of life, every time one of us makes the effort to make a difference in a child’s life, we add light and healing to our own lives.” The earth reveals its innocence through the smiles of children, and of course, the sweetest period of anyone’s life is their childhood, and the most precious thing in this world is a smile on the face of a child. May the innocence in their smiles and the purity of their hearts stay forever unfazed. A child can always teach an adult three things: To be happy for no reason | To be busy always with something, and, | To know how to demand with all your might what you want.” Final words on this post: Teach the children how to think rather than what to think. The way you are going to implant the seed is the way its going to bloom, so, be kind towards the kids. If money could buy happiness, everyone would go back to their childhood with all the money they have. Childhood is awesome like every child is. Like we are doing at the Nehemiah Protege Foundation, “Let us sacrifice our today so that our children can have a better tomorrow. HAPPY CHILDREN'S DAY to every young person around the world. #nehemiahprotegefoundation #HappyChildrensDay #happychildrensday2024

We get asked all the time, what is happening to America's Children and why have they become so undisciplined and violent? We are not perfect parents and did not raise perfect children, but when we were told by many that we are so lucky to have good kids, our collective response has always been "luck had nothing to do with raising courageous children." This is our story, the good the bad and the ugly of preparing children to face a culture that hates them and will do everything possible to destroy their destiny. To the advisors in my network: How do you get your clients' children involved in the conversation ?
Today is National Teach Children to Save Day! Not sure how to engage your client’s families? Start young! Encourage your clients to bring their children to the office so they get to know you. Make them part of the conversation - understand what matters to them, ask what they worry about when it comes to money. Don’t let them see you as “their parent’s advisor” - have them see you as the “family’s advisor.”

CFM news: As you munch on your pancakes today, use the plates they're landing on to start discussing Lent with your Children. Plates of pLENTy is a mostly child-led resource which helps children consider practical ways to respond to Lent. There are 4 empty plates which focus on 4 key themes through Lent: * A plate to Serve others * A plate to Give (to those around you or to God) * A plate to Love the world we live in * A plate to help us think about the way we Live Although there are a few ideas on the plates, each child can think about the response they want to give to this challenge. There is space on the plate to encourage reflection on the action they chose and what they learned/what God revealed to them during that time. They can either pick one plate for the whole of Lent or complete them all during the 40 day period. Download here: https://lnkd.in/eKz39nJV
