The telecom sector is experiencing significant changes, driven by the need for digitalization, the integration of AI technology, and the shift towards virtual selling strategies. Here are the following to watch in the telecom industry in 2024: #Digitalization #VirtualSelling #AI #5G #6G #IoT #EdgeComputing #Cybersecurity #Metaverse #TelecomInnovation #TelecomStartups 1.) Digitalization is fundamental: The telecom industry is embracing digital transformation, focusing on technological advancement over physical assets. This shift requires telcos to digitalize their retail operations, improve user experiences, and leverage live shopping to connect with consumers on their preferred channels. 2.) Use virtual selling: Virtual selling is becoming a critical strategy for telcos to engage with customers and offer high-quality internet and communication services. This approach enables providers to sell service bundles and compete in a rapidly evolving market. 3.) Get to know AI technology: AI is playing an increasingly important role in the telecom industry, with applications in customer service, network operations, and cybersecurity. AI-enabled predictive behavior analysis, chatbots, and virtual customer assistants are being used to automate CRM, improve personalization, and reduce customer support costs. 4.) Growth in digitalization: The digital revolution is causing telecom businesses to rethink their strategies to compete in an increasingly digital market. The US telecom services industry is projected to grow at a CAGR of around 1% from 2021 to 2026, reaching a size of $412.4 billion in 2021. 5.) Competition between telecom providers: The telecom industry is becoming more competitive, with providers vying for market share in the broadband sector. This competition is driving innovation and forcing providers to continually improve their services to meet the dynamic needs of their global clientele. 6.) 5G and 6G networks: The deployment of 5G networks is expected to continue in 2024, with 6G networks also on the horizon. These advanced networks will enable new applications, services, and business models, driving growth in the telecom industry. 7.) Edge computing: Edge computing is becoming more important as the demand for real-time data processing and low-latency applications grows. This technology enables data to be processed closer to its source, reducing the need for data transmission to centralized data centers. 8.) Metaverse: The metaverse is becoming increasingly important in the telecom industry, with telcos aligning their present fiber-5G connectivity and computing capabilities to enhance the metaverse experience. This technology has the potential to propel remote experiences even further, introducing a more engaging world. These highlight the telecom industry's commitment to acclimate, innovate, and meet the dynamic needs of its global clientele in 2024 and beyond. #TelecomTransformation #NetworkInfrastructure

Digital and Networking Technology Enthusiast | Sales Leadership | 5G, IoT, Cloud and Edge Computing | Telecommunications | AI & ML, Cyber Security, Digital Transformation
The power of 5G to support ultra-reliable low-latency connectivity and dedicated IoT services with virtual networks on top of the public mobile services network promises a quantum leap in the digitalization of our physical world. It also opens up the opportunity for telecommunication services providers to offer new high-value services for enterprises, to expand their footprint in the digital value chain, and to increase their revenues. I also think that, for this opportunity to become a reality, telco providers will have to build new partnerships & business models with cloud software and specialized vertical industry solution providers. Simply because, for Industry 4.0, Smart Grid and many other IoT applications like Smart Cities, eHealth or in Agriculture to work, a convergence and integration of the three technology domains, of communications with Cloud IT and dedicated vertical industry OT operations technologies & know-how, is required. It looks as if, with a recently announced long-term strategic partnership with Microsoft, Vodafone is moving in that direction.
