Slight caveat that I have never read the book "Energy Transitions: Global and National Perspectives" with this LinkedIn post. However, from the summary, it seemed like an important book discussing the current #climatecrisis and the need to transition to #cleanenergy from #fossilfuels. #Energytransitions are going to be an important point over time. It is interesting that the book supplies a long-term historical perspective of energy transition periods. It also dives into #energyproductiontech and implementation. 💡 moment⁉️ is integrated rail electrification and transmission a “missing puzzle 🧩 piece”? There’s so much frustration about new rights-of-way for transmission when rail criss-crosses our “wild brown land” - some of it only used only after harvest! Some of it primarily used to cart coal … which will diminish! The opportunity for interconnection paths coupled with high speed rail must also be something that could increase utility of rail and new population centres along the route. I hope Essential Energy is all over this as a “green fields” opportunity in rural/regional NSW … along with Ausgrid and Endeavour Energy (NSW) who have more “brown field” (existing electrified lines) and also green field opportunities.
