In relation to robotics and unmanned platforms as lethal autonomy, the degree of autonomy is generally defined by "human testing in the decision loop," which specifies the extent to which a weapon system can operate outside of human control.

There are plenty of ways to build a robot. I like to use the Robotics Operating System, but here are some alternatives: Viam: Focuses on rapidly building robots with cloud integration. YARP: A C++ focused middleware for robotics OpenJAUS: Implementation of SAE standards for unmanned vehicles. OROCOS: A realtime focused robotics control library.

- A drone equipped with LiDAR will inspect #offshorewind turbines, looking for fractures in blades. - Automated flight patterns over and around a large port will capture imagery data needed to track and manage container movements, even using AI to collect marking values. - A small unmanned aircraft with an ultrasonic thickness meter on an arm will be able to provide rapid hull survey datasets, enabling fleets to be assessed in a matter of days. Today's maritime cadets will no doubt be using unmanned aircraft in tomorrows workforce, so it only makes sense that American Robotics shows some of the industries leading edge capabilities at Massachusetts Maritime Academy. It's not a question of "if". Heck, it's starting to not even be a question of "when". The only question I find myself asking these days is "why isn't everyone as I am excited about this technology benefiting these applications?!"
Are you ready to see the American Robotics Optimus flying autonomous #BVLOS multi-use cases #railinspection #safety #security #criticalinfrastructure #maritime #naturalresources in support of MassDOT at Massachusetts Maritime Academy March 5-6? Contact us to get signed up as space is limited! We will be showing off our premier Drone-in-a-Box solution, along with an integrated active, passive, #UTM #DAA solution to enable autonomy at scale.

Robotics and autonomous systems developer Milrem Robotics will present the Type-X Robotic Combat Vehicle, the first-of-its-kind equipped with a mixed reality situational awareness system (MRSAS), at DSEI 2023 in London. Read more: https://hubs.la/Q021v9H-0 The Type-X is integrated with the QUADBOX by Elistair that consists of a tactical tethered UAS for ISR, and communications relay designed to further enhance situational awareness for extended periods whilst on the move. The Vegvisir Remote MRSAS enhances the decision making of Type-X operators by giving them a 360-degree virtual dome with EO/IR sensor fusion for both close and medium proximity vision and target engagement capabilities in any condition. “Milrem Robotics continues the development of the Type-X RCV by integrating cutting edge technologies to address the requirements of many countries interested in intelligent robotic systems, especially the Nordics and Western Europe, but also the US,” - Kuldar Väärsi, CEO of Milrem Robotics.
