Laying it bare, has diversity in tech truly moved at all in the last ten years? 🙄 I've been actively involved in the DE&I agenda for over 10 years, around the same time I've been in tech organisations. Reading report after report it's becoming more and more challenging to keep optimistic whilst on the journey to drive change. A huge thank you to the not for profit Tech Talent Charter who's released their 2024 report that is full of rich insight expanding across many intersectionality's. However, reading through it none of it will come as a surprise 🤷♀️ As the authors state they "share a warning that painstakingly-won D&I progress is at risk of being lost, and if we continue with the current trajectory it’s going to get worse. What we need is for business leaders to commit to sustained, intentional effort that shows they are serious about diversity and inclusion, not for the optics, but because they truly care about people and they know that D&I has a powerful impact on the productivity, competitiveness and resilience of their business." Here's just a page that shows yet again that women are leaving roles that aren't flexible and for those at the back FLEXIBLE WORKING IS NOT JUST HYBRID. Time for our allies to step up and those holding progress back to step aside #womenintech #dei #techtalent
Hey Kelly Keating thanks for sharing this. its quite depressing reading. more #allyship clearly needed. also a bit of reframing ie: we are not asking/suggesting people do better at "#DEI" we are suggesting they do better at managing people and teams to deliver better outcomes. high attrition, loss of talent, knowledge and experience are all factors that slow growth/results. its so strange that more mgmt dont focus on doing the things that deliver results and make employees more satisfied.
Thank you for sharing Kelly!

6moI'd love to see some benchmarks as to how this compares with other sectors? (i.e. in terms of relative improvement/deterioration over recent years, rather than absolutes) - Is this wider society/business climate - or is it unique to tech?
