On 26 Dec 23 CMMC was posted to the Federal Register. The 60-day comment period is now underway. Once the comment period ends on February 26, 2024, DoD will adjudicate and respond to all relevant comment. This process could take 12-18 months, with the Final Rule expected to be published in late 2024 or early 2025.
Once CMMC is incorporated into DFARS, contractors may be required to achieve CMMC certification prior to contract award. CMMC will be fully phased in over a 3 year period, likely starting Jan 2025.
Now is the time to begin the process of becoming CMMC compliant. Let Security Paradigms perform a readiness assessment for your Level 1 or Level 2 organization and provide you with an initial level of readiness as well as a POAM for achieving compliance BEFORE the rule goes live. Once the rules goes live, you must be compliant PRIOR to award of contract.
Security Paradigms has CMMC certified consultants with years of experience implementing both DFARS as well as NIST SP800-171/172. Message us today for an initial visit and initial review.
