📢 Attention Rondo Community‼️ 📢 Yesterday, the Star Tribune published an article by Our Street Minneapolis discussing i94 and the #RONDO neighborhood. Just two days prior, Asian Media Access released an article about the new Sears development, which includes a RONDO mall on the first floor. Surprisingly, none of us from the Rondo community have been consulted about these developments. This land is originally Rondo descendant land, as it was initially an army base where Quonset Huts for black families resided before the Sears development. This land belongs to the Rondo Community Covenant! It’s concerning to see organizations trying to leverage and capitalize on our families’ lineage and history without involving US in the conversation. Now more than ever, it’s crucial for us to show up and control the narrative. We can’t afford to sit back and watch others use our history for their own benefits. Moreover, the developers and consultants behind this project, such as Kimley-Horn , Seritage, and S9, along with Cedarleaf Dahl, have a history of gentrifying neighborhoods. They are just money-hungry organizations that are not working for the best interests of communities. If they want our voice, we need to ask ourselves, what are we getting in return? Let’s come together, raise our voices, and demand our rightful place in these discussions. Our history, our community, our future – let’s ensure WE are respected and honored. #RondoCommunity #ControlTheNarrative #ProtectOurHistory

Start Right, Grow Right, Stay Right

The “one-mile-radius” effect is a positive wave of impact that builds momentum neighborhood by neighborhood. As neighborhoods become hubs of community more partners enter that community and other neighborhoods begin to enter a period of revitalization, eventually creating a stronger, healthier community at a city’s core. So often we hear conversations about “density” and adding density. To me, the biggest challenge is applying these ideas to areas outside of urban cores. I sat next to a gentleman this weekend who made the point of “proximity” and how proximity is really the driver for blending this conversation between urban/suburb/rural. The “one-mile-radius” is a great example of this proximity and how ALL communities can think about proximity and how we crave it. That proximity will be different from the urban core vs Main Street USA, but it is important recognize that these proximities exist in all type of communities.

(b) The information required under this subsection may be provided to a tenant in a multifamily residential building either as a written notice or as a checklist that discloses whether the building has fire safety and protection devices and systems. The checklist shall include a diagram showing the emergency evacuation routes for the occupants. How is opting out of these fire emergency safety rules letting seniors thrive ?

Is The Answer offers a seven day intensive charrette program that is designed to help groups with wildly differing opinions to solve problems and design solutions based on collective input. There are seven sessions, one per day, four hours per day, from 5 PM to 9 PM, beginning with dinner each night (relationship breakthroughs happen faster when people break bread together).
