Wow, what a way to start her sophomore year at the University of Hawaii at Manoa for cross-country star Emilie Kirk Langschwager - winning the Big Wave Invitational and then taking home the Big West Conference Athlete of the Week. Running 5k in 18:09.80 - winning by almost 20 seconds. #WhatsYourJourney / www.keystonesports.com

STEEPLECHASE - THE SPECIALTY RACE YOU'RE GREAT AT. The steeplechase depicts the run of life in some ways. This race has 4 hurdles on the track, and one water jump. The 3000m version has a total of 28 hurdle jumps and 7 water jumps. You jump over the hurdles 28 times in total, and 7 times over the pool of the water jump. When jumping over the 4th hurdle, you sometimes land in the pool. A less than ideal situation because it slows you down. Just like in life. Sometimes you jump over hurdles and once in a while you jump over one and land in a pool. It's easy to get too critical over the not-so-ideal jump. And feel like the loss in momentum is unforgivable. The task is to remember that the hurdles you have overcome are more than the pools you have fallen into. 7 pools for every 28 jumps. Keep running. You're always doing much better than you think or feel. It's hard for you to see it because the best view is from outside looking in. A view hard to realize, when you're the in you need to be looking at from outside. Keep running. 🏃🏾♂️🚧 🌊 Image: world athletics ©Phillipe Fitte

𝑯𝒊𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒓𝒆𝒄𝒓𝒖𝒊𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒔, 𝒈𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒐𝒍𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒌𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝒂 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆❗ Age is just a number. Older professionals are self-motivated and disciplined in perfecting their craft. They are excellent candidates for the workplace. They bring wisdom and experience and can be mentors to younger employees. They can extrapolate and fill in gaps in knowledge because they have years of experience to draw upon. And they don't need hand holding; they are resourceful. They are motivated to contribute and be relevant in today's world. Other nations value and respect their seniors but in the U.S. we discard our seniors. This thinking has to change as we have a tsunami of baby boomers who are mentally and physically fit and eager to keep on working. Let's employ them and pair them with younger workers who can learn from them. I specialize in transitioning late career, mature professionals and senior executives, either advance or reinvent their careers. Check out this post by one of our founders Moses Millman!
Student-Athlete at Clark University | Studying Environmental Science, Entrepreneurship, and Marketing | Founder at Millman Management
Spent the majority of the weekend at Massachusetts Institute of Technology capturing media at the NEWMAC swimming and diving championships. I haven’t covered a multiday sports event before and it was an incredible opportunity to both track athletes progress but improve on media creation speed and upload flexibility. Congratulations to all the athletes from Clark University, Smith College, Mount Holyoke College, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, US Coast Guard Academy, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Babson College, and Wellesley College!

‘Does chronotype affect performance in rowing-specific and non-specific tasks?’ This is a wonderful dissection of a research paper by the science of rowing ⏱️Main findings: Morning types were faster by 4.8 seconds, evening types faster by 2 seconds over 2000m in the morning and evening, respectively. 🗓️Practical applications: 1) Consider individual chronotypes when building a schedule 2) Offer 1-2 sessions/week at different times 3) Group athletes according to chronotype 4) Allow athletes to choose their own time 5) Consider maturity status I love this ‘leave no stone unturned’ approach in considering an athlete’s natural rhythm. It builds a strong, empathetic bond between coaches and athletes, built on a firm understanding of an athlete’s unique biology to enhance their perfomance Our approach at Genletics taps into the circadian rhythm and can define a narrower performance window for each athlete, ensuring their body is ready for maximal output DM to book an intro call to find out how our approach can help you understand your athlete’s biological time for enhanced performance
