Everyone commented on the post by Kacie Jenkins below saying, "Yes, run away" -- but isn't it a given that we should be "proving" to leadership that the #GTM is working? Is the reason that everyone says "RUN" and that you don't want that job because they are viewing marketing as a cost center and they can't show the business impact of their marketing and sales efforts. Are they not confident that they can improve stage progression, win rates, deal sizes and revenue growth -- and are they just focused on pipeline when leadership cares about the bottomline? Instead of running, I'd be saying here's how I will prove my value and the value that my team will deliver.... Here's the impact sales and marketing will have on the business... The first step I would take is to assess the current GTM and see where it's broken and put now processes in place vs. retrofit previous playbooks on top of existing processes. This is the first step that we even take with our #ABM programs. Why are marketers afraid to be held accountable to the KPIs that the business cares about?
If the hiring manager says that it’s your job to “prove” to them/leadership that marketing or sales works and isn’t a waste of time… You don’t want that job. I promise.

Sales Hiring is like Fishing series continues... The single biggest hidden costs to a mid-market P&L are bad hires and mediocre sales teams. 1. Most mid-market company leaders tend to offload sales hiring to someone who has not hired many sales positions. They use the traditional method for sales hiring, and it just doesn’t work.
