Digital health is revolutionizing the pharmaceutical industry, offering opportunities for improved patient outcomes, streamlined operations, and enhanced customer experiences. That's why I'm a believer that independent pharmacies should make it a priority to integrate more digital health capabilities into their business models. By adopting digital tools like telehealth platforms, mobile apps for medication management, and electronic health records, independent pharmacies can offer more personalized care. These tools can also ensure that patients receive the right medication and dosage while keeping track of their health progress. I know it can be tough to find success as an independent pharmacy, but prioritizing these digital health capabilities can do wonders for patient care, leading to higher patient loyalty and satisfaction. #PatientCare #DigitalHealth #PharmaAdvice

Bringing an innovative medical device to market involves more than just regulatory approval—it’s about finding the right pathway to maximize both clinical value and patient access. I recently supported a client in evaluating the prescription (Rx) and over-the-counter (OTC) pathways for a novel Class II device for sleep-disordered breathing. Balancing the clinical rigor of an Rx pathway with the broader accessibility of an OTC product presents unique challenges and opportunities for the business case. Our approach focused on clinical efficacy, patient safety, and market access dynamics to support both patient accessibility and the product’s commercial viability. If you're navigating similar decisions or need insights to optimize your market entry, let’s connect! I’m open to consulting opportunities where I can make a meaningful impact at the intersection of healthcare and technology. #MedicalDevices #HealthTech #MarketAccess #OTCvsRx #Consulting #SleepHealth

It goes without saying that independent pharmacies play a crucial role in our communities. However, just because they're integral doesn't mean many aren't struggling. Independent pharmacies need to find ways to not just survive, but thrive in today's pharma environment. Luckily, there are a few ways I think these pharmacies can improve their operation strategies. For example, I think it's important to leverage new tech. I'd suggest investing time into IPC’s Digital Health offering and in advanced pharmacy management systems to streamline workflows, improve inventory management, and enhance patient communication. It's also a good idea to utilize our telehealth services to expand reach and accessibility. #IndependentPharmacies #PharmaAdvice #Strategy

There is a lot of talk about direct-to-patient models for pharma companies using telehealth (like LillyDirect). But what other opportunities does telehealth offer for pharma and medical device companies in their go-to-market or to improve patient care? Here are some of the highlights: Key opportunities: - Create awareness and reduce drop-off (e.g. like lillydirect) - Bundle medication and delivery with your therapy - Engage and educate HCPs through a telehealth partner - Provide patient support with digital technologies Key considerations - Get the portfolio fit right: You need to match the telehealth opportunity to the unique challenge of your patient population - Localize the strategy: telehealth is too fragmented for a one-fits-all approach (see the blog post for market archetypes) - Know your partner: Exits like Babilon Health showed how dynamic the market is, and your telehealth strategy needs to account for this - Stay clear of the grey zone: It is critical to avoid any actual or perceived conflicts of interest between different healthcare stakeholders Find our more here in our post: pwc.to/4bBqVLD Jonathan Sander, PhD, MBA Mylène Jeandupeux Catijn Schierbeek

The local pharmacy is the singular place where patients need to feel like they are cared for and supported. While doctors can serve as a crucial component of the healthcare experience, the impact the doctors can have on patients is limited to the time spent in the doctor's office. However, interestingly what sets pharmacies apart in healthcare are the regular connection points made with patients. Digital transformation along these vectors, ranging from digital prescription filling to telehealth tools, allows for success in these patient arenas not previously conceptualized before the digital expansion of the industry. #Pharma #PharmacyStrategy #DigitalInnovation #Telehealth
