I LOVE how the nurse team here at Specialty Care Management works with members to drive the kind of behavior change that truly improves outcomes, avoids high-costs, and helps people live and feel their best. Check out these hot tips from one of our Nurse Coaches, Stephanie Cardenas: 📣 Stick to one habit at a time 📣Start with a small habit first 📣Attach new habits to a pre-established routine/habit 📣Make habits time-bound rather than outcome-bound 📣Make plans to overcome obstacles 📣Perform habits at the same time every day to form them faster 📣Implement reward system 📣Measure your progress 📣It takes 30 days to start a new habit #thescmapproach

If there is one piece of advice we can give you after working with older people for over 25 years it is this - don’t wait until you are at crisis point before exploring your options for care and support. We understand, nobody really wants to talk about care options and consider what life might look like if we are less independent. But consider the peace of mind you will have if we do some preparations together, then you can get on with life with more peace of mind, knowing that you have the information you need, ready to go, should you require it. Book a free 30 minute call with a registered nurse via the website to explore what good preparation might look like for your family.

Here's something to mull over: Rest is not laziness. Rest is an active, purposeful process. It's also the key to re-humanizing healthcare. Shouldn't our own personal well-being as nurses be at the very heart of a profession committed to healing and caring? On challenging days (and we know there are plenty), isn't it essential to recharge, refuel, refresh? This journey isn't meant to be walked alone. So, let's redefine this path together, where managing stress and preventing burnout comes as naturally as our dedication to nursing. Does this resonate with you? I'd love to hear your thoughts. Reply and tell me more about your story. It's time for a breather, isn't it?

Important Reminder: Overlooking small details can lead to big problems. For example, what do you predict will happen with this multiplug hidden in the corner of the nurse's desk? Effective assessments help identify potential issues before they become major disruptions.

Relationship Based Care Service Line Lead @ Creative Health Care Management | Doctorate of Nursing Practice
Excited that my new article has been published in the February edition of Nursing Management for the new Relationships Matter column - "Strengthening your resiliency muscle to promote your relationship with yourself." Attuning to our self-care to strengthen our resiliency is more than spas, vacations, and massages - these will only offer short-term help. Longer-term self-care strategies include professional development and self-advocacy for both our professional and personal needs. https://lnkd.in/e7UdFebc
