This past weekend, I had the privilege of working at Nashville Oktoberfest once again, representing Nashville Soft Pretzel Co., LLC in the NSPC tent. This marks my third (or maybe fourth!) year contributing to this amazing event, and each year brings new opportunities for growth. In 2023, I transitioned to the production side, where I learned to carefully weigh fresh pretzel dough into 3 or 4 oz increments quickly and efficiently. But this year, I made it a point to learn even more. By shadowing the people who typically run other stations, I picked up new skills and became more versatile in helping out where needed. Our fearless leader, Vincent Dreffs, knows exactly where our strengths lie, and I’m grateful for the chance to expand mine. One thing that makes this team special is how dedicated we all are. A handful of Vince’s family members even fly down from Michigan to work the tent every year—that’s how much this means to us (and how wonderful of a leader he is)! We had no new faces this year, which was reassuring, as everyone knew their roles and was ready to dive back in. The experience felt like clockwork, thanks to this seasoned group of hard-working individuals including Abby Harris, Zach Anderson (BS-Guitar) and Ashley Guastella! This event allows me to hone my Process Improvement skills. Whether it’s in an office or at a festival, my ability to spot inefficiencies and step in to make things run smoother is something I take pride in. When I had a moment to rest, I’d check our stock or see if the service area needed anything. If my coworkers needed a hand, or a station was getting behind, I jumped in wherever I could. As one of our leaders pointed out, learning how to assist with other stations was a huge asset this year, and being adaptable helped the whole operation run more efficiently. I’m proud of what we accomplished, and I can’t wait for next year! 🥨🍻 #NashvilleOktoberfest #Teamwork #Leadership #ProcessImprovement #Adaptability #Tradition #ProjectManagement

Education doesn't always have to look so formal - PowerPoints, sitting in chairs, business casual attire...you can see it in your head right now, can't you? It can look like leadership getting creative. You can break up the many tools of success into bite-sized bits that are easier to absorb and remember. You can wear jeans, T-shirts, and even throw in the occasional letterman's jacket to up the cool factor. We recently held a Real Estate Fair at our office for a chance to change the pace while still offering quality education. We were excited at the turnout and heard from so many attendees that the fair not only taught them about real estate but that it energized and motivated them to get out into the field. It didn't take incredibly more time to plan than a normal workshop and the casual atmosphere made it easier for people to engage in conversations, ask critical questions, and pick the brains of some of our most talented team. We call that a win. #CreativeLeadership #RealEstateEducation #RealEstateFair #MotivatedMindset #EngagingConversations #TalentedTeam #BiteSizedLearning #QualityEducation #OWNYourGrowth #OWNFamily #CommunityOverCompetition

🦞 Happy World Lobster Day! 🦞 Today holds a special place in my heart and my personal journey. I started the day playing my own character “Lobsy” in the Bubble Ranger game reflecting on how life, like design, is full of transformations. It’s fascinating to think that in the 1770s, lobster was considered a “poor man’s meal,” reserved for prisoners, apprentices, and enslaved people due to its abundance. Later it was “soldiers food” with WW2. Fast forward to today, and it’s now a delicacy, symbolizing luxury and celebration. This shift reminds me that life is all about perspective and change. Just like the evolution of lobster’s status, our own journeys are filled with unexpected turns. We may not always win at everything we desire, but it’s those changes and challenges that help us grow, redefine ourselves, and find new meaning in what we do. Today, I’m celebrating all the Lobsy moments—the small yet significant steps that shape our unique paths. Let’s honor our personal growth and resilience, and embrace the transformations life and design bring, because today is the day of the lobster! Wishing everyone a day filled with gratitude, joy, and a dash of Lobsy spirit! #WorldLobsterDay #CelebrateWins #Resilience #PersonalProjects #BubbleRanger #LobsyJourney #CreativeLife #Transformation #DesignEvolution #lobsy #bubbleranger

Shhh 🤫… did you know that one of Puerto Rico’s best kept secrets as a top employer is Plaza Provision Company. We do not self promote. So, I want to let you into our secret. Our CEO is one of the humblest and well-intentioned leaders you’ll ever meet. Our employee tenure average is at 26 years of service with many surpassing that. Our turnover is less than 3%. And yes, we promote from within for vertical and horizontal mobility and development. So, why do our employees stick around so long. For one, balance and quality of work and life. As California proposes a new bill, giving “Workers the Right-to-Disconnect from Non-Emergency Business Calls and Texts After Hours”, Plaza Provision already respects its employees’s free time. We know there is much more to life than just work and we want our employees to enjoy it. Our company culture is respectful and relax. And it doesn’t hurt that you can snack on the products we distribute during the day like Snickers, Oreo cookies and for the healthier pallet, Kind Bars with some ☕️. If you’re interested in knowing more about our company or career opportunities as we continue growing, check out our web page: https://lnkd.in/eF3f9924 😉.

"The whole is greater than the sum of its parts." This phrase, often attributed to the philosopher Aristotle, suggests that the total value or effectiveness of a group or system is greater than the sum of its individual components Leading alongside remarkable women such as S. Kathryn Allen, Esq., Theresa Harrison, Keisha L. Mack, PhD, Aimee Griffin, Esq., LLM, and Nic Cober, Esquire, is truly an honor. I consider it an honor to belong to a sisterhood that stands as a representation of the top 1% of Black Women-owned businesses. We've just concluded our third annual conference, The BOW Collective (The Black Owner and Women's Collective), held in Destin, Florida, where we experienced a #paradigmshift. Watch the video below for an inside look at how we BOW! The Focus: capital, contracts, and community. By the numbers: ⁃ Inducted over 70 new members ⁃ Total Collective membership of 200+ ⁃ 4 countries ⁃ 30 industries ⁃ 1.2 billion dollars in revenue The Bottom Line: We are job creators, innovators, and ready to take action. One of our key priorities is ensuring that Black women business owners receive the necessary support to scale their enterprises, expand their workforce, and maintain their positive impact on their communities. Thank you to our partners MassMutual, JPMorgan Chase & Co. Acuity Events (Acuity International), HR&Co., Potomac Hospitality Group, Life & Legacy Counselors, Answer Title, CJR | Cober Johnson & Romney, GEORGE STREET Services, Inc. The MECCA Group, LLC, Cushman & Wakefield, Cultivate Advisors, Pinnacle Financial Partners, Paramount+, First Financial Group and Pinterest who not only understand the vision but play a special role in it. Retail, Foodservice & Wholesale SME / Produce Industry Veteran / Relationship Builder / Writer & Columnist / Connector
As I usually do I like to share personal stories and how those experiences have impacted me throughout my career. I believe Presence and Engagement within the given industry we are connected to provides great power and influence to how we develop our skills and gain knowledge and just as important (maybe more importantly) - how we contribute of our expertise, insights and perspectives and from those we gain value which is leveraged to benefit our own business, and relationships. The barrier to engagement...most often it's time, second is a monetary consideration. But when one considers engagement as an investment in themselves and their business suddenly perspectives are reconsidered on what they will gain from those experiences. But it takes commitment and effort...there is no magic trick to share. To be a champion, you have to be in the game otherwise the sideline is as far as one can go. https://lnkd.in/g_hdZZ_M

Founder/CEO of The Youth Fairy Franchise | Solution Focused Therapist | Hypnotherapy Lecturer | Clinical Supervisor | NLP Master Practitioner | Qualified Coach | Youth Mental Health First Aider
🌟 Today, we celebrated the work of one of our Fabulous Fairies and reviewed #goodpractice in the Fairy Family. 🧚♀️✨ I've challenged the team to find as many reasons as possible why the social media post they created was just like Mary Poppins - practically perfect in every way! ☂️👜🌟 As a Franchisor, maintaining high standards for our brand and any content we put out there is crucial. One of the reasons my Fairies value being part of the team is because of our commitment to quality and attention to detail. However, we totally understand that mistakes happen and our newbies also need time to find their feet and be shown how to get things right. 🌱💼 I've experienced some exceptional environments in the past, where feedback was managed positively, and I've also experienced ones where it predominantly focused on mistakes or what not to do. And so I understand how anxiety-provoking and demotivating it can be over time. That's why I've made it a priority to help my Fairies learn how to maintain standards in a solution-focused way and to cultivate a supportive culture that uplifts every team member. 💪🌟 So today we're shining the spotlight on and celebrating the right way to do things, all while infusing a sense of fun! Because, anyone in the SFH world will know, learning is much more effective when it's enjoyable! #leftprefrontalcortext #activated And, as an added bonus, the more reasons each Fairy comes up with, as to why the post was spot on, the more entries they receive into a #fun prize draw! 🎉🎁 Here's to a supportive and innovative team culture. #teamwork #innovation #growthopportunities #supportiveculture 💼🚀

How exciting! Evolving on many levels
As Casey's evolves, we are bringing bigger, bolder partnerships to life to have a greater impact with our team, guests and communities. I can’t think of a better way to do that than welcoming Casey’s Center to Des Moines in July 2025. This is the hub of nearly 200 events each year and Casey’s wants to be a force multiplier for what’s happening here, and across the region. And, yes, we’re bringing our iconic, handmade pizza to Casey’s Center – I can’t wait to celebrate the first slice! We appreciate the partnership with the Polk County Board of Supervisors, Oak View Group, and the Iowa Events Center team, and we look forward to what’s ahead at Casey’s Center.
