Veronica Feduniec, COO, had the pleasure of presenting State Representative Larry Potts with the 2024 Community Health Advocate of the Year Award at the 45th NCCHCA Annual Meeting on June 6, 2024. Representative Potts represents Davidson County in the North Carolina House of Representatives. As a Senior Chair of the Health Committee and a Chair of the Health Appropriations Committee, Representative Potts played a leadership role in enacting funding in the 2023 state budget to expand the Community Health Center Association’s new workforce development pilot, the Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Initiative. Kintegra Health knows how vital its Medical Assistants are, and how valuable it is for community health centers to be able to recruit and grow its own workforce. Thanks to this new funding, NCCHCA is expanding the number of new Medical Assistant apprentice placements in rural and underserved communities. Thank you Representative Potts for your support.

CNA | Intern at Ogden Regional ER | Planning to obtain BSN for ER Nurse | Student at Northridge High School
The best thing about being in the ER as a 16-year-old is being able to see and experience things that not many 16-year-olds get to see and experience. Interning in the Emergency Room is preparing me for my career ahead and I'm getting a jumpstart on the way hospitals run, how doctors and nurses communicate, and getting a look on how clinical rotations may be while in nursing school. Being in the ER is a big responsibility...hence why you don't see many teenagers interning or volunteering in that department. You have to be able to handle stress during high chaos hours while not getting overwhelmed by your responsibilities. https://lnkd.in/gCV43Yup

🏥 NHS Doctor Degree Apprenticeships: What are they, and how will they work? 🗓️ Announced in January 2023 as part of the NHS Long Term Workforce Plan, the Medical Doctor Degree Apprenticeship, which will enable trainees to earn a wage while studying to national recognised medical standards, is scheduled to take in its first apprentices in September this year. 📈Trainees will need to meet the same high standards as those who do a traditional undergraduate medical degrees, and will be required to attend medical school, complete an accredited medical degree like all other medical students, and meet all other criteria to qualify as a doctor as set out by the General Medical Council. 👨🏼⚕️Whilst boosting recruitment, it is also hoped that providing an alternative route into medicine will help more people of different backgrounds get into the profession, making the NHS workforce more representative of the local communities it serves. #nhs #nhsworkforce #apprenticeships https://lnkd.in/dXej8EyX

My graduation project, which focused on the topic Nurse’s Role in Family Adherence to Child Care Consultation: An Integrative Review, centered on child health because it is a subject rarely addressed in this type of work in the region where I live. My interest in focusing on the role of nurses in ensuring comprehensive and holistic child health care emerged during my internship in Primary Care, where I followed the children in my community on a monthly basis. I noticed that there is little interest from parents and family members in understanding what a Child Care Consultation really entails, the aspects it should cover, and, most importantly, the importance of not missing these appointments with health professionals. Another point that became evident to me is the significant lack of educational policies for the population regarding this topic, which, in my view, is due to the inadequate preparation of professionals in this area, which is not given enough emphasis. If anyone is interested in the topic and my perspective on the matter, here is my work, which has not yet been corrected according to the professors’ suggestions, but for which I received the highest grade.
