Yesterday, Omar Elizondo kicked off our Leadership Power Lunches with an informative and vulnerable discussion at our Oklahoma City luncheon on "Intention and Attitude in a Consolidated Market." It was an engaging session that highlighted the importance of our networks for job hunting and deal-making, the impact of our actions on others, leadership and personal accountability, and the value of intentionality. We also hosted our first SPE Student Intern / E&P Connection mixer at Jones Assembly Hall. Where we got to meet with Joseph Alvarez and Cruz McConnell from Missouri University of Science and Technology. Cruz is interning this summer at Continental Resources, and Joseph however is already an oilman about to drill his first well with his company at Cross Oil. I stumbled across my original cover letter from 15 March 2017 when I first applied to Elsby 🗓 ✨ It read: "Elsby attracts me because of the smaller nature of the firm with large ambitions and the support and emphasis given to employees to become all-rounded individuals. The care for clients is as important as employees, and the focus on personal as well as professional development shows me an ambitious firm that I would be proud to be part of." ⌛ Seven years later, I am excited to say that my observations have held true. Following on with our Coffee Catchups we spoke with Kevin, our Senior Duty Manager, to find out more about his role and responsibilities, and how he got started in his career. What’s your favourite part of your job? "Working with staff on the floor and trying to build them, trying to get the best out of them, and building up their confidence. I left school with no qualifications, but I had someone who believed in me, so they put me through my holiday park management course, my NVQ level 3 in Management.
