What made it possible Proud to showcase my dissertation, submitted in July 2024, which explores the often-overlooked yet critical aspect of fleet management in organizations. What drove my interest in this topic was the realization that fleets can be a significant drain on resources if not properly maintained and optimized. Through my research, I discovered that effective fleet management can be a game-changer for companies, elevating their revenue and propelling them towards world-class status. Delving into this subject was fascinating and enlightening, revealing opportunities for growth and improvement. Key takeaways from my study highlight the importance of: - Regular technical maintenance - Proactive fleet optimization - Data-driven decision making By prioritizing fleet management, organizations can unlock new levels of efficiency, productivity, and profitability. I'm thrilled to have contributed to the body of knowledge in this field and look forward to applying my insights in real-world scenarios.

Technological Wonder: The Brennan Monorail: ➡️Dive into the early 1900s—a time of innovation and marvel. Among the myriad inventions of the era, the Brennan monorail stands out, crafted from the ingenious mind of Louis Brennan. ➡️This invention wasn't just another train; it was a spectacle of balance and engineering, gracefully gliding on a singular rail. ➡️Imagine the excitement when Winston Churchill, the Home Secretary of the time, experienced this marvel firsthand. His enthusiasm was so contagious that he persuaded the Prime Minister and cabinet members to witness this futuristic mode of transport. ✅Yet, despite its groundbreaking technology and the ability to captivate high-ranking officials, the Brennan monorail remained a gem hidden from commercial success. ✅Skepticism shadowed its path—fears over the reliability of its gyroscopic balancing act and concerns about the feasibility of attaching stabilized wagons dampened its prospects. Now, we pose a question to the dreamers, the innovators, and the history buffs: Is it time to revisit and resurrect the Brennan monorail? In an age where the past informs the future, could this be our next leap in transportation technology? Former Country Manager, Mentor & Executive Coach, empowering leaders to make better decisions and drive effective actions
What do the building of the Great Western Railway across Britain in the 1830s, the construction of the Panama Canal in the early 1900s, and your work as an executive today have in common? The answer: they involve making crucial decisions—introducing new technology, addressing supply chain disruptions, and overcoming myriad unexpected obstacles—based on the imperfect and incomplete information available at the time. In "Audacious Goals, Remarkable Results: How an Explorer, an Engineer, and a Statesman Shaped Our Modern World," David Hirzel and his co-author explore the decision-making processes of three historical figures: Isambard Kingdom Brunel, Theodore Roosevelt, and Roald Amundsen. These leaders, despite their different backgrounds and professions, shared a similar mindset in overcoming challenges. Their achievements, including Brunel's engineering feats, Roosevelt's creation of national parks and the Panama Canal, and Amundsen's exploration of the Northwest Passage and the South Pole, were characterized by bold decisions, detailed knowledge, firsthand experience, and quick, effective decision-making. The authors argue that modern CEOs can learn from these overachievers by mastering key details, seeking firsthand knowledge, and making rapid decisions while effectively communicating changes. For example, Brunel's intimate understanding of his railway project helped him secure government approval, and Amundsen's extensive research and hands-on experience were crucial to his Arctic success. Roosevelt’s on-site visit during the Panama Canal’s rainy season provided him with a clear, unvarnished perspective that was essential for making informed decisions. The book emphasizes the importance of being well-prepared, understanding both risks and opportunities, and maintaining clear communication to achieve successful outcomes. This approach is exemplified by leaders like Apple’s Tim Cook, who leveraged his detailed supply chain knowledge to transform the company, and Jim Riesenbach of AutoWeb, who navigated the company through the 2007-08 economic downturn by making informed, timely decisions. The underlying message is that thorough preparation and decisive action are key to overcoming challenges and achieving remarkable results.
