How is AI being used in fundraising? Our CEO Tim Cadogan explains to Fortune's Peter Vanham: “We have recently introduced AI-enhanced storytelling options, suggested fundraiser titles, and a new class of sharing tools. These innovations use AI to apply the lessons we’ve learned from over $30 billion in fundraising, while always keeping the integrity and authenticity of the individual fundraiser’s story at the core.” Follow the link to read more about how we think about AI, the increase in fundraising for natural disasters, and the ways Tim stays motivated: https://gfme.co/3S5KTG9

For over 30 years, I have worked to create value in companies, first as a web intrapreneur in the early '90s, then as a tech entrepreneur, and today as an entrepreneur in the beverage industry and in consulting for the transformative use of AI on a large scale. Throughout this journey, one of the success metrics has been the level of cash flow generated. However, making money is pointless if we do not understand its management, its purpose in our lives, how to grow and preserve it, and then use it to help young businesses start up or support charitable operations. In short, I will try during the next AI by Drinkizz event to share my perspective on money management through the lens of an entrepreneur, an active employee, and an intrapreneur. Drinkizz is a company I co-founded where we apply AI and No-code as leverage for creating positive impacts. Keep the Zoom link and join the live session this Wednesday to ask your questions (in the comment below). See you soon.

Uses of artificial intelligence in fundraising have, until recently, been limited to generative text or culling through donor databases for the best prospects. But a new initiative is using A.I. to power an autonomous fundraiser that interacts with donors. Early tests, according to the company, show that the autonomous fundraiser was able to secure 13 gifts totaling $3,400 from a pool of 119 donors. But will that scale? The company is testing to see. Critics may ask, should it scale, however? Even if you can create an autonomous fundraiser, they ask, should we be pulling humans out of the equation and putting A.I. up front with donors? To learn more about the new fundraiser and how 13 organizations--mostly colleges--plan to use it moving forward, as well as what some of the concerns are with an A.I. fundraiser. https://lnkd.in/eBzmFBVs

Founder; Consultant @ MNM Strategy | Sports + Social Impact | Seeking strategic partnership, marketing and comms opportunities
The annual "World's Most Innovative Companies" issue from Fast Company dropped today #FCMostInnovative A few #TuesdayThoughts as I read through this year's issue over lunch: 1. There are at least four "sectors" related to #socialimpact including: "Corporate Social Responsibility", "Not-for-profit", "Social Good" and "Sustainability". It's fascinating to me how these were divided up, especially the #CSR vs. #SocialGood categories, the former focused on more established corporations who are using their platform to drive initiatives for social good (i.e. Verizon, Ikea and Starbucks) while the latter is focused on emerging brands that have baked purpose into their overall business from the outset. 2. The "not-for-profit" top 10 list is great but subjective (as is any such list) but think it's important to call out that there's a $995 entry fee (even the "super early" rate is $495) which automatically rules out a ton of innovative orgs who cannot afford that fee, let alone the staff time to complete any such application. If this list is to be the "definitive source for recognizing the organizations that are transforming industries and shaping society" then maybe FastCo could give future consideration to waive application fees for #nonprofit orgs who have annual budgets <$1M. 3. On the sports front, S/O to National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) for not only making the list within the sports category but ranking #5 overall; S/O to SailGP for their ongoing sustainability ambitions and, not in the sports top 10 list but notable fact that I was unaware of that I believe is also worth giving a S/O - USAFacts which provides free access to government data and was acknowledged in the not-for-profit category, is a nonprofit but isn't a public 501c3 charity... it's privately funded by LA Clippers Chairman (and former Microsoft CEO) Steve Ballmer. https://lnkd.in/eRuH2ewm

As we near the end of our series, our ✨ special ✨ ‘Tech for Good Reality Checks’ advent series has been a journey through the complexities and challenges of implementing technology for societal benefit. Here's a summary of the things we went through: We started by examining challenges in digital Inclusion and accessibility, going through public sector digital accessibility struggles and businesses' reluctance for inclusive tech, followed by discussions on the decline of digital and physical accessibility post-pandemic. 💼 We explored the superficiality of tech initiatives that often feel like a new form of greenwashing, as well as how some of them are driven by marketing and seeking profits instead of serving social good, sustaining prevailing power dynamics. 😬 Some of our posts aimed to highlight the failure of some tech initiatives to deliver promised impacts and the subsequent decline in quality and societal value, known as 'enshittification'. Particularly, we emphasised the paradox of social media platforms that claim to connect people but in reality promote isolation and harm society. 🤳 We contemplated the compromises Tech for Good startups make under investor pressure, we critiqued B Corp’s practices, and reflected on businesses like Etsy struggling to balance profit with values. ⚖️ We also delved into the challenges small charities face in digital adoption, and how high tech salaries contrast with social impact needs. 💸 Throughout the series, we often looked at AI's ethical complexities, emphasising the need for responsible AI usage considering privacy, biases, job displacement, and environmental impacts. 🌐 Through this series, we've seen that Tech for Good initiatives exist in a complex and challenging reality. Our hope is if we stay mindful of these challenges, we can shape a more inclusive and effective technology landscape. 🌐✨ #Technology #Innovation #TechInclusion #ValuesMatter #AIValues #TechForEthics
