We were treated to another fantastic "demo camp" at our Nelson Chapter meetup last week where we heard from Fractional Chief Product Officer Hannah Eickmeier who shared some key learnings from her 11 years of working in SaaS. Hannah advised companies to spend more time understanding the problems so they can spend less time on the solutions. Understanding the problem is of much greater value than having good ideas. Good ideas without understanding the problem are like throwing spaghetti at the wall and hoping it will stick.🧐 She also highlighted product strategy is mostly about competition💪 Keeping your finger on the pulse and understanding what's out there is vital. Her lasting advice... work backwards from the vision🔮Set your big goals and backtrack to highlight the key tasks you need to get there. More pearls of wisdom coming your way at your next kiwiSaaS Local Chapter meetups in the Bay of Plenty on 11 Apr, Auckland on 16 April, & Nelson on 2 May. What a turnout for our first community-led chapter meet up in Nelson on Wednesday, hosted by Brendon Shervell from Image Engine. The theme of the meet up was "connection", with everyone agreeing that we've got to get out from behind our desks and push ourselves to connect IRL. The work pile will always be there, but in-person meet ups are vital to staying connected to SaaS peers, exchanging ideas and challenges, and sharing know-how. Members also nutted out logistics for their chapter meet ups going forward, deciding on a structure and cadence. We're looking forward to the next one in the new year! Want to come along to the next meet up, or start running chapter meet ups for SaaS businesses in your region? We're here to help!
