A HYPERTENSIVE EMERGENCY is the combination of SEVERE HYPERTENSION (sbp ≥180 or dbp ≥110) + SOMETHING/ ANYTHING BAD it is causing It is a MEDICAL EMERGENCY. Always keep in mind that a Hypertensive emergency looks like an emergency, in that something is seriously wrong with the patient! Contrary to popular belief... there is NO association between either Headache (in & of itself) or Epistaxis to hypertension severity - and as such - should never be used to make a diagnosis of symptomatic hypertension aka Hypertensive emergency Often times, the hypertension simply accompanies, rather than causes the syndrome Visit our Website/ Medical wards app knowmedicine.net

Caring for a cat with hypertension 🐈 🐾⚕👩🏻⚕️ Bova UK (Specials) Systemic hypertensionis the medical term for a persistent increase in blood pressure that isdamaging to the body. Hypertension is most commonly seen in older cats andespecially in those known to have certain medical conditions which cause anincreased risk of high blood pressure.Chronic kidneydisease is currently thought to be the most important cause of high bloodpressure in older cats. Unfortunately, as with people, hypertension is often a'silent killer' so clinical signs of this condition may be completely absentuntil the condition is very advanced. Clinical signs that can be seen includebleeding in the eyes which can cause sudden blindness and neurological signswhich may mimic a stroke. Most clinics are nowaware of hypertension as a feline issue and can measure blood pressure in catswhich helps to confirm the diagnosis. Medications are available to treathypertension in cats and these usually work very well to stabilise affectedcats. #CatHypertensionCare #SeniorCatHealth #FelineWellness #BloodPressureInCats #CatHealthIssues #PetHealthCare #HypertensionAwareness

Random point check after dinner/run. If, LA, IF the Gross Incompetent criminal negligents even have a clue when pumping me with 4 BP control agents (instead of my usual 1, Precautionary low dose) triggering BP-Statin drug-drug interactions accelerating myopathy triggered in hospital. Of the 4 major ambulatory stints to confirm hypertension, NONE could offer the AVERAGE reference to confirm hypertension. Neither 6 other minor stints. Even with low dose Precautionary agent my systolic has dropped below 100 during early assessments and the low dose had to be halved.

Remember, catching stuff early is like finding a four-leaf clover—it’s lucky! So, keep those appointments, monitor your blood sugar, and let your eyes sparkle like the stars. ✨ Please, be sure to get your annual eye exam.
Did you know by viewing the blood vessels in the retinas of your eyes, your eye doctor is able to look for early signs of high blood pressure, also known as hypertension? If your eye doctor detects any changes that indicate high blood pressure, he or she can work with your primary care doctor to ensure you receive appropriate and timely treatment. And if getting an annual eye exam isn’t currently a part of your routine, remember: Your heart’s too important to overlook your eyes. Read more ➡ https://bit.ly/3RzlVPi

MASS OR THROMBUS? What's your vote and why? ******************** This is a thrombus located at the bifurcation of the pulmonary artery. Other findings include: 🫀Severely dilated RV and RA. 🫀RV systolic dysfunction. 🫀Dilated MPA 🫀Pulmonary hypertension noted (mPAP: 26.56mmHg; PCWP: 8.65mmHg; RVSP: 66.84mmHg) 🫀Severe tricuspid regurgitation. **All left left-sided parameters were within normal limits. The patient had an echo done two years ago at a facility which concluded right heart failure only as the thrombus was much smaller and missed sadly.
